I knew I didn't want to stay long last time (we left the hospital 3 hours after she was born) so I didn't bring much. An outfit & snowsuit for the baby. A couple diapers. A change of clothes for me (although it might have been what I went in wearing - don't remember). I wore the gown during labor/delivery, then got dressed into pyjamas and went home. My ipod and some drinks. This time I actually have to go out and buy some plastic sheeting and a couple other things for the homebirth. They also suggested having a hospital bag packed before just in case - but considering I didn't have one last time, I don't really see why I would do one this time. I can always have someone bring me stuff if I need it.

Kia: I got this one. Pretty much a steal if you ask me

Here is what I plan to take...
*Basic toiletries and make-up so I feel human again
    *Gown above
*Yoga pants and a nursing tank
*Nursing pads although I doubt I'll need them
*Sweatshirt (I've gotten bad chills after my other two)
    *Flip-flops
*Adult diapers (recommended on another BB and I'm a really heavy bleeder for the first few days so I love this idea as opposed to soaking my bed multiple times and having to "adjust" my pad every time I stand up - I have no pride at that point anyway so bring 'em on!)
    *Jolly Ranchers for labor
    *Something to wear home
*Computer & iPhone (which has my music on it as well if I wanted it)
    *Camera
*For baby: hat, PJs, and blanket (I prefer to use my own stuff vs the hospital stuff) plus take home outfit
*My own pillow (can stay in car until I'm in postpartum)
    *Boppy (same as above)

I think that's it. DH won't be sleeping at the hospital so I don't have to worry about anything for him.

I am tempted to get some adult diapers as well. I usually wear the mesh undies with 2 pads - one front, one overlapping and towards the back. Maybe I should just skip the trouble and get some Depends for the first few days.

I don't remember having an option. Our last day there took FOREVER to get released because we were waiting over 6 hours for the pediatrician to sign off on the paperwork

Lucas was born right after midnight so we ended up staying a that day and going home at 10am the next morning. I was ok with that but with two kids who need to get back to their normal life, we may try to leave sooner.

I have always stayed about 2-3 days (3 days with my first because I was in ROUGH shape). With my last, he was born around midnight on Saturday/Sunday and I stayed until Monday mid-morning. I have heard that the hospital I am going to this time is pretty quick on the turn around and many go home after 12-24 hours, I guess it will depend on how rough the delivery was.

We had our doc check her and sign her out right away before we let her leave! She did it because my mom was with us, and my mom is a doctor, so she felt comfortable releasing us into some sort of "medical" care. We had to sign the release waivers a million times they seemed to extra want to cover their behinds lol. The time was in waiting for me to finally pee so they could check my uterus.

We stayed 2 nights with DD but she was a c-section. You can leave within hours here if nothing is wrong.

I just wore the hospital gowns last time. I think they had you put on one front ways and the other back ways so you were always covered. I'm not sure I feel like spending money on something I'm just going to throw out...I'm cheap and it's not great for our little environment anyways.

Hubby spent the night last time but I don't know what's going to happen this time as we have DD now. My mom might stay here with DD. I don't know. Nothing is planned.
