How's It Going? <Chat>

I know most of us aren't on as much as before our babies came, but how's everyone doing? We traveled overnight (DH had a triathlon 3 hors away) this past weekend with the baby. My mom kept the other two so it was pretty easy aside from him not sleeping super well even though I "let" him sleep with us because I didn't want to haul the pack and play for one night. He mostly slept while we watched the race since I was wearing him most of the time aside from when he woke to eat. When I had him out though, people kept asking how big he was at birth; way kids have smallish heads (20-30% on the chart) so I always have people assume they were premies. Kind of funny since they were all born after their due dates! Anyway, spent the day yesterday at an outdoor market/festival with all 3 kids. It was fun but we're in that heat wave out west so we took a lot of shade breaks.

Sounds like fun stuff Ashley!! The heat wave, yep, definitely lots of "shade breaks." I'm actually on more now that baby is here... when she nurses I sit down at the computer! Smile We are doing well, Daniel took the 3 oldest girls to a wild west "thing" on Saturday. The 3 youngest stayed with me, and there were a couple hours where they were ALL napping. That was awesome! Smile Yesterday we went to a few flea markets. I found a few older books. I'm a bit book obsessed, so I was happy about that.

It's like magic when you can get everyone napping at the same time!! Awesome score on the books.

I'm still at home WAY too much, but last night we went to a BBQ at DH's friend's house. M slept through it and K played with the other kids. DH's friend's wife is a Special Needs assistant at DD's daycare so DD was super excited to see her house! LOL. After we ate K's teacher took her and a couple other kids to the water park a block away. Anyways, it was fun but I was emotionally and physically done when we got home. I lost it on DD while getting ready for bed. Sad

Sounds like you two had fun weekends. I'm jealous of your energy. Sigh.

Yeah, it is nice! Oldest DS doesn't nap much, but he does sometimes. When they are all napping, it is wonderful and quiet!

Oh Heather, I can totally relate to "losing it." Unfortunately there was a bit too much of that on my part the last few weeks. This past week has already been so much better though. I can tell my hormones are more "normal" now. I really do think you will feel better in a week or two. If you don't though, definitely let your midwife know. If it does seem to be something more then just "normal" pp stuff, there is help available!!

Heather I've been losing it with my kids here and there since May. I don't handle unstable hormones and not getting enough sleep well I guess. I'm trying very hard to be calm and collected but its hard. Not to mention I'm really frustrated at my body because it doesn't seem to want to lose weight and I've been stuck at the same weight for a week and a half. I've never had this happen in the past and I'm kind of on edge about it so that isn't helping anything!

Gotta love when kids cause havoc while you're nursing! My DS1 knocked a huge picture frame off the wall and put a dime sized hole in the wall in the process. Ahhhh! Speaking of losing your temper...lol Oh boy.

I haven't been on much because my IL's are here and we've been super busy!

Things are going pretty good. My big kids leave tomorrow with the IL's so it will just be me and the two little boys during the day. It's hot here too now, so I'll have to try and get outside in the mornings before it gets too bad. Last night we had about 15 people over for a BBQ and it was too hot to stay out with Ethan for too long.

Sorry I have been so MIA! I hope to be around more in the next two weeks before I head out to the lake for vacation as well.

I was checking this on my phone, but I am horrible at typing on that. Wink

Everything is pretty good here. Adjusting to the little sleep again. She sleeps a lot, just during the day.

We get out of the house a lot. It's hot here, but been raining every afternoon, so I try to get out in the morning. I'm getting better at toting the two kiddos around. It's definitely an adjustment.

Sandra - enjoy your two big kids before they leave! Mine were only gone a week and I was missing them pretty badly (but I only had the baby to occupy me, not another toddler!).

Noelle - I agree that figuring out how to get out of the house with 2 is a huge adjustment. Adding a third, so far, hasn't been much different, just takes a little more thinking ahead but I've gotten so used to pre-planning that it goes hardly noticed.

I've been trying super hard to drink a ton of water all day and am so beyond sick of it! I've started adding in Crystal Light to mix it up and am not drinking soda or anything else really aside from coffee in the morning. Ugh, I want a Coke! Blum 3

Yeah, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it and that's why I'm making sure to try to do it solo so when I have to go back to work it is not such a surprise, lol!

I agree on the water, which I love, but I'm tired to drinking water. I've been cutting it with a little grape juice and I have formed an obsession with starbucks very berry hibiscus referesher. Thankfully, my mother brings them over for me otherwise I'd be broke.

ACK! All the water is driving me nuts too, but I have been having a soda a day.

As for me, I am usually lurking around, I have just felt so cruddy I didn't want to seem too complainy. Wynnie is perfect baby, and we haven't had any issues with adding her to the mix other than DS is feeling extra 6 year old lately (he is usually doesn't act up much) but he loves his sister soooooo much. I on the other had have been dealing with anxiety, I usually have it pretty high anyhow but with all the hormones I am finding it really hard to keep in in check, and have been yelling excessively at DH and the apartment maintenance people because we keep having **** happen and they act like it doesn't matter... anyhow had the two week PPD check up at the birthing center Saturday and scored pretty high on the test because of the anxiety, so they prescribed Zoloft and suggest strongly that I seek a counselor which I am pretty against as it is generalized anxiety and I don't think talking about will sort it out. I have put off starting the Zoloft because I am pretty afraid of the side effects which I seem to get at least a few of whenever I take meds, but I guess I will start it in the morning....

See that was all whiney complainy... Stupid hormones...

Also I have a really strong urge to go for a run, but my pelvis has started hurting these past couple days...

I'm dying to go running but am trying to wait it out the 2 more weeks. I started running at 2.5 weeks postpartum last time and it seemed to make me bleed forever and feel drained all the time. Just me though. I have started biking though (indoors only so far). Sorry about the anxiety and overall just crummy feeling Sad I hope your hormones sort themselves out soon!! And I was doing a soda a day if I wanted one too but I haven't lost a pound in over a week and actually have put a few back on so I'm cleaning my diet out for the time being of empty calories as much as possible.

Noelle - I have a pretty serious caramel macchiato addiction so I better not try the spritzers because all I need is a second thig beckoning me from a Starbucks! It takes enough energy to avoid going there too often already!

I have been trying to make my coffee at home and bought a chiller glass for it and just bought white chocolate syrup, (no dairy or soy!) hoping its good but trying to hold out so I don't have two today lol.

I got my gauze wrap yesterday! I tried it out today and for what time I wore it, I liked it. Jonah seemed to like it too, he fell asleep after about 10 minutes. Wrapping it was easier than I thought and it seemed like I got the tension just right. I guess I get to try it outside Thursday, but thankfully it's not supposed to be too hot.

Friday I went to Micheals and Hobby Lobby and had the hardest time finding decently priced fabric for the wrap, so I over paid but still used the 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby. It's just a jersey knit, so it's a bit warmer but oh well. Wore her at walmart for a good three hours with her sleeping all but fifteen minutes when she woke up to eat, and wore her today at bass pro, she is so much easier to take out than DS was.
