OMG I don't feel well! Constant nausea hit today and I'm exhausted. Not to mention my son is on a rampage and has hit his sister twice today. Hopefully I've nipped that in the bud. I am trying to Pottytrain DD, but gave up after 2 hours and 3 accidents. I don't have it in me today to deal with it.
I definitely wouldn't try to undertake anything new in the first trimester!! You will feel like a new woman in a couple months. Even when I'm feeling 100% I have to have an extra dose of "umph" to undertake potty training! My big "project this pregnancy will be getting baby boy to sleep on his own. Shouldn't be too hard... just a matter of being consistent for a week of not letting him in the bed! I will worry about it sometime in the second trimester though!
I wasn't going to but this weekend she showed interest in underwear so I figured I'd give it a whirl. She even peed on the potty and had a couple near misses this weekend. Today has been a disaster?! Not sure if I should continue or not.
In my experience if they are ready, you will know it within the first 2-3 days. If not, wrap it up and try again later. All of my kiddos trained almost 100% within 3 days - when they were ready!! I tried training my current 2 year old early August. After 1 hour and 3 puddles we had both had enough. I tried again mid September, and at the end of day 2 she had it down, and she hasn't had a single accident since day 4 of training. When they are ready they are ready!
My DD was so easy to train! She trained right when she was turning two, I just waited until she showed interest and she was trained within a week. I found that she was much easier to train than my son was! There are a few bad habits that I want to break with the kids before this baby is born. I think I will wait until we tell them that there is a new baby coming and I need them to be helpers and change a few things. Maybe it will work... Good luck to you!
We did the intensive 3 day potty training technique with DD and had a LOT of accidents before she got it. They need to learn what it feels like to have accidents so they can learn how to hold it in. Don't lose faith!
That being said, today might not be the best day for you to do all of that if you feel like poop. My tummy isn't 100% today and I sure wouldn't want to be potty training. *hugs*
