That's kind of cool.

I find it funny it is posted in the personals section.

I just shared this on Facebook. Too funny.

But to the question of who waits--Jewish families traditionally wait. I know my good friend didn't buy a single thing for her daughter until after she was born. It's some kind of tradition, I guess?

I had a few people when I was pregnant with DS that thought it was bad luck to buy anything before the baby was born too.

PS I shared it on facebook too, lol!

Ugh, I honestly don't believe in the whole 'bad luck' thing....and also, I'm a planner. There is no way I could handle giving birth with not a SINGLE thing for my baby!

It's true that some religious jews don't buy anything for the baby before it's born. I have friends who bought nothing in advance. But people tend to help out and lend or donate things, make meals for the family etc as soon as the baby arrives.

It's kind of an ugly crib anyway!

I guess so! We didn't order Ella's crib until I was 36 weeks, and it didn't arrive at our house until 10 days before she was due. So I guess if she had come early we wouldn't have had a crib yet!

Adriana, too funny! Biggrin

I don't buy into the whole bad luck or jinxing myself idea either but I could see not buying a crib before babe is born. We didn't use our crib with DS1 until he was 8 months old and DS2 slept in a pack n play in our bedroom until probably 3 or 4 months old.

Robbie was born at 36w1d. His crib was a gift from Sean's step-brother (and 3 crib mattresses, the triplets had needed new mattresses for their toddler beds just before they decided to switch them to twin beds, lol). I did not put it together until Robbie was about 4 months old, he was in the bassinet until that point anyway.
