I read the whole post so I no longer know who liked the name Asher, but two alternatives if you like that one is Ashton or Archer.

Yay, another Lewis!!! I'd love it for a first name if we already didn't have one in the family (same last name too!). I also like Iris but my high school boyfriend is married to an Iris....Claire is definitely short list material for me! LOVE it and it's not super popular.

DH and I were the same way last time...no boy names but we had a firm girl name. This time, we only have a boy name! Marshall Lewis. No girl name yet. Is this a sign?

Avery Faith is really pretty! I hate it when they shoot every name down. Have you thought about each coming up with your own lists independently and the comparing?

DS1 (almost 5) says Zachary for boy or Eva for girl
DS2 (3 years) says Thomas for boy or Rosie for girl.
I love that the kids are helping you pick names. If I let DD pick she'd chose 'baby' probably. LOL. All of our stuffies are named what they are "Lambie", "Piggy", etc.

My DD has a "different" name that she is going to have to spell out her whole life. Although I sort of wish we'd maybe spelled it slightly differently, it wouldn't change her having to always spell it. That doesn't bother me because I ALWAYS get asked how to spell my name since there are so many variations. Not a big deal to me so hopefully she'll forgive us Our last name is very simple and common so at least she doesn't have to spell that too (at least until she gets married), which is also why we gave her a more unique first name.

Two girl names I'm loving are Jade and Everly (nn "evie"). Jade is my mn so if for a girl we'll either use it for a first or mn

Heather, Ryne rhymes with mine so it has a long i sound and is one syllable. DH got it from the baseball player Ryne Sandberg.

My middle name is Jade too!! I have considered using it for a middle name for a girl, though I'm not sure about it. The one I was considering was Saylor Jade.

Wow! I can't believe how many Jades! Jade/Jaden was a favorite name of mine about 13 years ago. My friend used it on her, now 12 year old, daughter.

Did I mention Carson yet? I like that one too. Kaden was one we had picked out before with DD but it's a bit over-done now. Also, we already have a K name so next baby won't be K. We could do Caden...but we are still stuck on Marshall. LOL
