    Default It's so quiet...wanna chat?

I guess half of us are busy with new babies and half of us are getting close and anxious and not posting.

I'm at work right now...trying to wrap up loose ends and my boss and I were working on something until he got a phone call so I'm taking a quick break while he is on the phone.

I have my weekly check-up today. Keeping my fingers crossed that doc will check me and find I'm 7 cm; I'm in labor and didn't even know it! It can happen, right!?! LOL I'm really not too impatient at this point though. It's odd for me still being pregnant but I'm also still enjoying the anticipation and currently able to keep my self settled down with the logic that it is normal to be pregnant and not expect a baby at any moment at this gestation.

Heather, I saw your other post and reference to FB interaction being annoying.
I hope you get good news tomorrow and your m/w can do the sweep. You are in the same boat as me and still working until this Friday, right?

What is everyone else up to today?

My mom leaves today I could really use her for another 4-5 days I think! But she is a school teacher and used up her only 3 days off that she had saved up! So home she goes today.

Sorry I have been so MIA. It is a combo of being busy with baby and having barely any internet, as my phone hotspot isn't always working.

I feel like I'm on here more now that baby is here then before. Before I was trying to get all kinds of things "done" before baby came, and now that baby is here, there isn't as much to do. We did make a trip into town yesterday (our big once a week grocery shopping trip). I forgot what it's like to have a newborn/nursling along. We got going - first stop 20 minutes away from home. Ran into store for 1 minute to purchase a bag of pine shavings. Baby was screaming by the time I got back to the van. Odessa (my oldest) insisted she needed to eat. So, I nursed her. 10 minutes later we were on our way again. 30 minutes later we arrived at another quick stop - only about 10 minutes. Madelyn managed to scream for most of those 10 minutes, but I didn't bother to put her in the ergo since it was just a quick stop. Then we were off to our next stop (about 10 minutes away, and Madelyn did fine in the car). This is one of the big stops. I figure Madelyn should be fine because she ate at the first stop. WRONG! I put her in a front carrier (ergo) and she screams for the first 15 minutes or so we are in the store. Finally she falls asleep. I guess she was hungry, oops. Back to the van and I try to nurse her before we leave, but she is OUT!! There is no waking this kid up. We head to the next stop that is about 10 minutes away. It's the farmer's market and I just need to grab a couple items here. I leave the kids in the van for the 5 minutes it takes (I can see the van the whole time). I get back and Madelyn is screaming and my oldest dd is holding her and trying to calm her down. I nurse her for 15 minutes (a combo of both sides). Now she is out again. We head to Costco which is again, about 10 minutes away. I put her in the ergo and she is FINALLY content. We finish all of our shopping and make the 45 minute trip home without issue. I forgot how frequently those little ones need to eat sometimes! She really is a very content baby - unless she is hungry! I'm not sure what is going on with my computer - it won't let me "enter" to make a new paragraph so this is going to be one big paragraph I guess! Lynn - I'm glad you're managing to stay relaxed about still being pregnant. I think I would be antsy if I were you, having had a couple that were so early. Heather - I am so hoping they can at least find your cervix this week, and a sweep would be even better. I can't wait to hear how your appointment goes. Sandra - I'm sure it was nice having your mom there to help. Actually it worked out nice that you got her help after baby was here instead of when you were in labor. Hopefully you can get your internet up and running soon. Are they suppose to come out again to install it anytime soon? Nothing major going on here today. I will do a little school with the kids (we school year round and we took quite a bit of time off in the couple months before baby came). SOme people from church are lined up to bring us some dinners over the next few days (one is coming tonight), so that will be nice. Oh, and we ordered a chicken run that is suppose to be delivered today. I'm excited to get that up for the chickens.

I stayed in bed nearly 24 hours yesterday until this morning. I felt so awful after the chiro yesterday. Not sure why. I couldn't even walk. Yuck. It felt kinda virus-y. I'm still not quite right now. Yuck!!!!

lucas is rocking at swim team! He's on the "prep" team and learning all his strokes. He won a race this morning and swam back stroke all the way across, he's never done back stroke before! I'm so stinking proud of him I could burst! Love watching him learn. And Tori is improving like crazy, too. We switched teams this year and it seems like it was a good call. I love summer!

Sandra, sorry your mom has to leave today. It's nice that you had her for a bit though and were able to enjoy having her present...that isn't always the case for everyone. Hope you get your internet back soon...that is irritating I know!

Laurie, I remember being surprised how quickly they want to nurse again when you think they should be satisfied. Sometimes trying to go out somewhere was really a 1 step forward 2 steps back process. I would feed him and think ok were good for a while and by the time you get all loaded up and on the road they want to eat again! Though I discovered part of my problem was not realizing how long it actually took to get loaded up and on the road. I lost track of time a lot in those days But when nursing on demand there are definitely those times where you feed them and turn around 15 minutes later and they want to eat again. It's crazy!

Chelle, sorry you are not feeling well. Hope today things get better.
Congrats to Lucas for his accomplishment! Sounds like ya'll are having a fun summer.

Yup, annoying 'helpful' friends. Joy of joys. I locked my wall this morning so they can only PM me or comment on my posts now. I'm sure it won't keep them totally away though. I'm going to try to not post so much and see if everyone forgets about me.

Yes, 3 more days of 'work'. Sigh. Then it's Mat leave for me and DD will be only part time at daycare (Thursday & Friday).

Laurie - I am exhausted just reading about your day of errands. I wouldn't even be able to do half of that with no kids! You are super woman!!!! My appt is at 4:30pm (PST) tomorrow and we'll try for a sweep again. My BHs have changed and feel a bit lower maybe? Cervix low? I don't know...I just hope something is good/different. Hearing about Madelyn screaming in the store takes me back...oh man. I so didn't do well with that when K was little. I had major anxiety about her FREAKING out in stores and hated 'the looks'. I hope I can be more calm this time....

Sandra - Sorry to hear your mommy is gone.

Rachelle - I'm constantly amazed by how active your kids are. It seems like they're at some event every day! Glad to hear their swimming is improving!

So my friend who came on Friday hoping I'd have the baby while she was here is at the airport...leaving. It totally sucks. She isn't upset but I was hoping baby would be here before she left. She won't be back till August now.

Chelle: that's great that your kids are doing well with swimming! My DH does what's basically an adult swim team a few times a week and I can't wait for my kids to be old enough to do it too. Hope you get feeling better!

Sandra: bummer that your mom has to leave

Lynn: I'm pulling for you to be 7 cm at your appt Congrats on making it this far though, that's awesome!!

Laurie: Ive been thinking the same thing regarding how much you have to stop to feed the baby. Funny the things you forget between kids!

Heather: I bet your baby is waiting for official maternity leave before making its debut.

My older 2 kids have been at my dad and atepmom'a house since Sunday which is about 4 hours away. It's been nice to only have to worry about me and baby but I'm missing them like crazy. Not to mention I'm pretty bored LOL. Hopefully they'll bring them back Friday but they never set a for sure date so I'm kind of up in the air on when to expect them back. Saturday at the latest I'd think. Little man is a pretty good baby so far but he lets you know when he's mad or hungry. He is sleeping great as long as I let him lay next to me in bed oh well.

I can't even fathom leaving the house now...I'm very impressed.
We have been hanging out at home and DH has been here, so I've been able to get the kids outside while he listens for Asher inside. I guess I need to figure out how to take the monitor outside or something.

I'm still figuring out how to spend time with the other two. Asher BF's for 45-60 minutes at a time, so I am stuck on the couch for a while. That and I still need to figure out how to not freak out about the noise level in the house. Babies just sleep through it right?

Wow that's a long time to spend BFing. Hope he gets more "efficient" soon. AFA the noise level, I figure they were used to hearing it in the womb so it's probably normal to them (although maybe a bit louder on this side of the belly).

LOL Lissy, my house is SOOOO loud! Emerson has been running around screaming for 3 days now. For some reason he thinks he should be REALLY loud now that baby is here. LOL. So for Ethan just sleeps through it.

We haven't left the house yet either. Not really looking forward to it myself. My bottom is still sore (my stitches) and I can't really be standing for more than 5 minutes.
