    Default Just saw this article.....

And I had a feeling that 99% of us here at Pregnancy.org are NOT part of this statistic!!

So here's to hoping we DTD *accurately* this month and catch the eggies!

This is interesting...I know way too much now about what my body is doing. It's a rare cycle for me to not be able to say within a day or 2 when I O'd. Although I just had a surprise pregnancy resulting from a completely clueless cycle. LOL

I learned a lot about my body by charting and was educated about it by seeing references to it on here and by doing the charting course offered by fertilityfriend.com. I remember years ago, before DH and I were TTC, I wanted to stop taking the pill and was looking online to get information about other BC options. I came across charting then but at a quick glance was really overwhelmed with what it involved. I laugh about that now because once I started doing it I quickly found it was pretty simple. We were able to successfully conceive DS1 on our first cycle TTC just using OPK's. I didn't have a clue when I O'd prior to that and usually had 30 to 32 day cycles at that time. I believe I O'd on CD19 that cycle and if I had just assumed I O'd on CD 14 (a common misconception) I would have missed it. I will say I didn't know much about what my body was doing before TTC but once I reached that period in my life I became self educated pretty quickly by spending time online reading. Although I'm not sure I ever would have attempyed charting if not due to the support from the pg.org community. There is so much information to be found out there with a little search that I find it hard to believe that women are so uneducated about it unless they don't try at all to find any information. But, like I said it can be overwhelming too.

So what about you ladies? How did you learn about what your body does and do you feel like you know when you are fertile or is it a shot in the dark?

ETA: I know my mom nor my doctor taught me anything about me fertility aside of how to take the pill.

Thought about temping this month, but I really have a wonky sleep schedule, and wake up so often... Yay insomnia.... So I just bought these and hopefully my husband won't notice the charge...

I agree with you Lynn. I knew nothing until I wanted to get pregnant. Then I found this site, started temping and was pregnant right away. I also tend to O a bit late - around day 16 or so.

I found out my O is all over the place, I charted 5 cycles the first time TTC #2 (that resulted in my first loss) and in 5 cycles I o'd on 4 different cycle days ranging from CD13 to CD17. But I always have a 12 day LP, so I could bet on AF showing up on 13 DPO like clockwork if I wasn't preggers. So turns out I'm very irregular and regular at the same time. I thought that was pretty interesting to learn about my body. But I'm also a nerd like that

I didnt read the article yet but i had to comment because I thought I always o'd the same time every month and when I started doing the opks, it kept changing from 13-18 so I read an article that a womans body is made to TTC so if you DTD the same time every month your ovulation will switch the days that you DTD. I thought that was very interesting. So now I know that NFP will never work! LOL
