I'm nervous about this too. DD has to sleep with the door open but DS has to sleep with the door closed or he is a nightmare to get to sleep. He refuses to go to bed if he can see out of his room. We have tried a gate and that doesn't work either. DD has to have the door open because she needs to see light for some reason. we cant seem to get her over that either. I'm almost thinking I may put the baby with DD because she sleeps so solid at night and we don't usually put new baby in their crib until 4 mo when they can cry it out.

I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there. I'm sure it will all be fine in the end and they will eventually adjust.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm sure it will all work out, but I like to over plan. I don't have a nursery to decorate this time so I need SOMETHING to obsess over! HA HA HA!

My first two were 18 months apart and shared a room. DS1 coslept with us for about 3-4 months, then he was in to his crib in the room with DD. Some days were fine, some days were DREADFUL! They would wake each other up.

I think with your DD being 3.5 Heather, she will be old enough to understand some "bedtime rules" (whether or not she'll listen is another thing!) I'd give baby a couple weeks with you and then you can try out the transition.

When DS1 was 14 months we moved, and the kids got their own rooms. Now we've moved again, and DD and DS1 share (bunk beds!) so that DS2 can have his own room. When this baby comes, we'll co sleep for quite a while - if we move again, DD will get her own room, DS1 and DS2 will share, and baby will get his own room. I don't mind co-sleeping for the first 3-6 months but after that I need my bed back!

DD is currently an awesome sleeper...she goes to bed easily, falls asleep on her own and sleeps all night until her grow clock turns to a sunshine (at 6:40am). Then she comes in our room and says good morning. She's also learning now that crying when it's not yet morning won't make it be morning!!! Like when she wakes at 4am to pee. She is at the age where she understands that she has to go back to sleep and she does. Sometimes she's a bit sad, but mainly crocodile tears. I'm hoping by 3.5 years she'll be able to be like "Oh, that's just my brother/sister crying" and roll back over and go to sleep. We'll see though. *gulp*

SO worth the money. DD only recently figured out how to open her bedroom door and come out. Luckily she already understood the grow clock, so I told her if she comes out before Mr. Sun is up, she'll get locked in. LMAO! She doesn't want to get locked in so she waits for the sun. If she has to pee she calls us.

Yes, it is great! The Gro Company is from the UK. So that's probably why it's here and not there. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone in Canada to ship to you! Well.ca is an online drug store and their shipping page says they ship to the USA:

Buy Gro-clock from Canada at Well.ca - Free Shipping

This is the site I ordered mine from. I think it's a small outfit. It looks like they mail to the USA too!

    - BebeGoGo Canada. Trunki Canada, CARES airplane harness, Skip Hop, Melissa and Doug

    YAY! Problem solved!
