I enjoy the girls that I worked with in the lab, and the nurses all seemed pretty friendly when I was drawing at L&D, and the anesthesiologists (if I do need it) are all pretty nice. I just live right across the highway from NKC, and my mom works there, and we had DS there, but eh change is ok.

It was hard to make a decision though, because it was there NKC or St Marys (where I worked for two years as well), and also St. Lukes is the only place in the area that does cord blood donation (which was the only attractive factor for there). I am indecisive if you can't tell.
The new birthing center at Liberty is really nice. I have heard the new one at NKC is nice too. The only real downside to both of them is they have gotten rid of bathtubs in the rooms. Most of the big hospitals in the area have, (WHY!!!??!?) which was the drawing point for St. Marys. While they aren't as updated, it is a relatively small center, and you are in one room for your entire stay, Liberty you switch rooms after baby, and NKC you change floors entirely. Most of the NICU nurses in the area hospitals are sent out from/ or did training at Childrens Mercy, so there isn't a whole lot of difference there.
Can you tell this is something I have put a lot of thought into?
lol.. I'm going to say yes!! You have done your research! When I was at NKC, I stayed in the same room the whole time and didn't have a tub.. wonder if it was because it was so long ago?? :confused:
You probably didn't have to switch rooms because they were slow. My sister was able to keep the first room for her first birth but not for her second or third. They had me moved out of there as soon as my epidural wore off enough that I could move to a wheel chair.
Glad to hear you have a date for your appointment. So cool you'll find out the gender then too. Good luck making your decision about delivery...I'm always indecisive when I have a lot of options. I have to decide where I'm going here still too. But thinking we all have time for that. ;)
