Midwife appt update...

Well, my appt didn't go as well as Leah's...I put on weight AND my midwife suggested I start walking and eat less cookies!!!!!!!! BA HA HA HA! Right! It's the last 7.5 weeks of less guilt ridden eating I'll have this life...you can't take that away from me!!! Blum 3 Ok perhaps I should ease up on the candy though. Perhaps.

Blood pressure seems good...baby's heartbeat was about 135 or so. The midwife agreed, in her monotone sort of way that baby is probably head down. I was cheering inside. Blum 3 She also made it sound like baby won't turn now...that they 'usually stay that way'. I don't know if I believe that although I'd love ot.

I had to pick whether I wanted the shot of oxytocin at birth to start the placenta shearing contractions and I said yes. I guess LESS blood loss is recommended when you're already low in iron. Blum 3

I had a bunch of questions to ask the midwife but of course I forgot them all. I'll make a list for next time. Blum 3

I remembered one of the questions already, it was about doulas. I've put that on a list in my phone so I won't forget next time. I also asked about walking around...and she said I can but sometimes they have troubles with the 'reach' on the monitoring devices. I need to be monitored a lot because it's a vbac.

Meh, keep eatin' those cookies Wink

I never remember to bring up what I was going to bring up LOL. Not that I usually have much to say. But, for example, I'm going out of town (4 hours away) next weekend and I still haven't mentioned it to my OB....LOL. Not sure if I even will.....

Hooray for head down! I agree, if it's head down now, it's not very likely to flip again. Fingers crossed!

My OB said the same thing at my appointment (that they usually don't turn FROM head down at this point); he hadn't said this before even though baby has been head down for a few appts now. Crossing my fingers your little guy/gal stays! I know this is crazy, but I backed off how much snacking I was doing (especially of the sugary variety..) and my gain has slowed WAAAAAY down. Might just be a coincidence but there's my 2 cents.

I've been eating a LOT of Easter (and weak moment) candy lately Ashley...you're probably right.

Yeah, my weight gain has been alot IMO, although doc has said nothing. I've been trying to limit my sugar intake some more. I know I have too much. I don't want baby getting bigger than she has to either. I hope your little one stays head down for you.

I'm trying to cut back too and walk a bit more. I've even broken out Just Dance for the Wii and doing that when I can.

I say eat a cookie if you want a cookie. Wink

I ALWAYS forget my questions for the dr. I hate that I will remember them as I'm walking out of the office.

My main issue with exercising (besides being tired and lazy) is that I've been having intermittent hip pain, normally triggered by walking (aka doing too much). I have lots of things I need to do, like grocery shopping and stuff, which come ahead of just walking for 'fun'. I can't imagine dancing on the wii right now! LOL. You're super woman!

I wouldn't call it actually 'dancing'. Since this baby is so low, there is no possible way of long term vertical movement without risking peeing myself standing up.

It's more me moving along to the avatar versus dancing, dancing. lol! Same with walking. I've been doing at the mall 3-4 days out of the work week, but by the time I hit 20 minutes or so, she is so heavy I feel like she is going to fall right out of me. I never thought I would be hoping to have her up in my ribs kicking away, but the relief of the pressure with be welcomed.

That is too bad! If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been exercising. I do stay busy all the time, if I sit down, I am out of it! Glad to hear that baby is likely head down!
