I think J might have it..DS had it and we found out at his 1 month check up..she's been pretty restless for 2 nights and she seems like she has a bellyache and i swear i saw mucus in her poop
My first baby had dairy issues, never figured out what exactly because she did fine on cow milk when we switched her at 12 months but when I was breastfeeding and when I tried "regular" formula with her, she had foamy poop and tummy troubles. Soy formula worked great for her but the 8 months I BF'ed, we never could quite figure it out. It was frustrating for sure. Hope you figure it out!
We got the stool test back and it did confirm that she def does have a milk protein allergy...my son had it to and and drank milk perfectly fine at 12 months..the baby isnt allergic to milk they just cant breakdown the protein in cows milk very different than a lactose allergy...special formula here is 29.99 a can and we got word from the dr that insurance will not pay for it so the only way we can do this is if i go on the dairy and soy free diet...this is going to be very hard since i eat alot of bread and pasta but were looking at 500 a month for the formula
What does dairy and soy have to do with bread and pasta? You can still eat those. Anyways - definitely better to go off dairy and soy and feed her breast milk than "special" formula. Once you get used to it, it's not so hard. I'm off both and I don't mind, especially the soy. But there is soy in a LOT of processed foods, so you will have to be super careful with labels.
Sorry to hear about the allergy and her pain. So sad. I'm glad they were able to pinpoint the issue. I can't believe how much formula would cost! I'm so cheap that i'd modify my diet before spending that kind of money! Good luck with finding new food choices. I hope she feels better soon!
When ds had it we got the formula paid for by his insurance this timd they are saying no..i hope they change there mind because going back to work and pumping is going to blow...looking at all these labels and i realized alot of stuff has soy in it..i could so do a dairy free diet but soy free is going to be very difficult. Im not the best vegetable either so my choices arent much
