Monday LOL

So my CVS is on Wednesday. They will either do it vaginally or through my abdomen, depending on where the placenta is. Last time they did it vaginally. DH was joking around last night how funny it would be to grow out your pubic hair and then when the doctor goes to do the procedure be like "HAPPY MOVEMBER!!!!". LMAO! I about died laughing. I can just imagine being it the fancy sterile room in the hospital...all gown'ed up...Dr with his fancy glasses on and gloves. Oh my!

Sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit. Blum 3

I hear ya. Right now I can totally see it and reach it though, so there's no excuse really. It's not like it's bad right now anyways...so I don't know WHAT he's talking about. Blum 3

lmao i can still reach mine as well but i must say it was a little harder this morning, i have my ultrasound today and im not sure if they are going to do it vaginally so i want to be prepared... DH hasnt touched me since i got pregnant (told him he's not allowed until i go for my ultrasound) so he has no say in it

Yup, it totally sucks. I had to do that too. My instructions said to be FINISHED the water an hour before your appt time...so if I were you I'd chug it at 2:30. Also, if you end up drinking a little less, it doesn't super matter. Oh, and make sure you pee before you start drinking. Blum 3

i already have to pee so im going to wait and try to chug it all down, if i cant hold it long enough she'll just have to do an internal, when i went in for my 2nd pregnancy at 7w3d she did it vaginally

Heather - That's hilarious!!

Karen - I bet it's external if they want you to have a full bladder.

So I'm curious, how does everyone keep things groomed? I usually shave everything completely off, but I've been so sick I've gotten rather lazy and it IS getting crazy!no matter, dh can't touch me without my getting pukey so there's no action in my house right now.

Shaving it off is WAY more work, is it not? I use an electric beard trimmer with a spacer. That way I can do it quickly to about 1/4 inch or so. It's way easier. Also, because the beard trimmer is narrow, you can maneuver better. I use something similar to this one:

Amazon.com: Wahl 5537-1801 Cordless Battery Operated Beard Trimmer with Bonus Ear, Nose and Brow Trimmer: Health & Personal Care

Do you ladies use normal leg razors? I find if I take it all off it gets SO ITCHY when it comes back in and I get red bumps all over.

I use a leg razor. Haven't had much problem with razor burn and I shave daily so it usually doesn't have a chance to come back. However, I keep getting ingrown hairs so I've been considering using a beard trimmer to get it short, but less chance of ingrown hairs.

Wow, you shave your bikini area EVERY day? I can't even shave my arm pits every second day without getting little bumps. That sounds like way too much work to me. I'm lazy. Blum 3

I find it much harder to shave it all! I hate doing it and rarely do. It find it much easier to keep it trimmed and you don't have to do it all of the time. I use one of those women's personal elector trimmer things. Even so, it is one of my most dreaded personal grooming activities...

I shave it all off and it's not much work when you do it every 2-3 days.. so fast to me.

It drives me crazy seeing it all start growing back in, like 6 hours later! And if I don't get every little hair it bugs me! I guess it's just my perfectionism!

I used to shave it all off when I was younger, before DS, then I couldn't reach it, so I stopped caring so much about it being smooth, now I will trim it with scissors. I couldn't handle all the itch of it growing back in.

Looks like I am an odd duck. I go au natural, with an occasional trim of any wayward long bits. I can't even fathom the itchiness I would get from shaving EVERYTHING. Ugh. Makes me shudder.

Too funny!!!

I shave the sides, but only every few days or the razor burn would kill me. Then I just trim the rest every few weeks.

Heather: ROFL too funny

Karen: for sure external if they want you to have a full bladder. My doc only does internal if absolutely necessary, but he has a really nice machine so maybe that makes a difference? Sorry about having to drink so much! My girlfriends have had to do that, I haven't ever been told to.

Lauren: I do the same - shave EVERYTHING. Just a personal thing, I hate body hair and would seriously have it removed from my neck down if it didn't cost so much $$. Anyway, I haven't had a problem keeping things groomed even at the end of my last pregnancy; I can't really SEE what I'm doing, but I do it so often that I don't really need to. I'm just extra careful and take my time. You girls that get your DH's to help you out with shaving, kuddos. I would rather grow Amazonian than trust my DH with a blade in that area!

LOL I haven't ever had an issue with itchiness unless I tend to let things start to grow out for a week or so. Guess we just get used to what we do!

I'm an au natural lady too. Shaving or trimming sounds like way too much trouble and also I just don't see the point. Maybe I'm just used to it but DH has never complained and I don't think things are unruly. Perhaps I should ask my doc...he sees a lot of variety. Wink

Ya, I'm really lazy with hair removal. I probably curse about body hair more than I actually remove it. I do my armpits the most...legs a close second. I really only trim the bikini line before I go swimming! LOL...but the rest of the hair I trim every month or two...when it gets annoying. It can be a bit unruly. Blum 3

Me too. I trim up when I wear a swimsuit but otherwise, I am who I am. My legs get itchy enough when my leg hair starts to grow back, I will not do that to more sensitive areas!

I keep it um pretty natural most of the time lol. Sometimes I get sick of it and shave the sides and once in a while the whole thing. I like it for about an hour before it starts itching like hell. I'm also the type of chick who doesn't shave their legs in the winter haha. I really want one of those personal trimmer things though. I get irritated with the pubes but hate dealing with the itchy crap. And no way I'd ever shave enough to where it stops itching.

Also, I really doubt gynecologists notice or care at all about pubic hair. I'm pretty sure they see it all.

Oh, and I wanted to add... I started shaving my sides and trimming everything when I was on the swim team. There has been a couple of times in the past few years where we (my family) has gone swimming with my mom and my sister and, ummmm, it was very obvious that my mom and sister did nothing in that area!!!! It was all sticking out the sides of their swim suits and my DH even saw it and brought it up to me. He was totally grossed out that he saw it... and it wasn't like to was "looking." They walked in front of him when he was sitting down...

Ok, ya, that's too much. You need to keep that under wraps. Ugh. It also bugs me when it puffs up your bathing suit crotch. LOL.
