Oh...the eating!

Baby must be doing some serious growing in there because I just want to eat all the time! I think part of my problem yesterday morning (feeling sick) was because I wasn't keeping up with my hunger. I don't get a growling stomach or light headed like I do when I'm not pregnant, now when I'm hungry I start to feel sick and I burp. I just got home from picking up some subway (the baked chicken sub, don't worry!) and the hunger seems to be at bay momentarily. I have the other half of my foot long for when I get hungry again in...what? 10 mins? LOL. Silly baby!

Hope you can satisfy that hungry baby! LOL :eating:

My hunger comes and goes, but when it comes, WATCH OUT because I need food NOW!!

Oh man, I love cookie dough icecream. Black cherry and cookie dough are probably my 2 favourite kinds!

Now I am freezing from my icecream. I need another sweater.

I'm really into chocolate chip mint right now too. I'm actually more into the mint than the chocolate part.

It's funny because I normally buy low fat ice cream but I bought the normal for while I'm pg. OMG it's so rich and creamy!!!!

Oh yes, the hunger is crazy, isn't it? Thankfully mine is not quite as bad this past week now that I'm getting into the second tri. In the second tri I tend to only gain 1 pound a week compared to the first tri when I gain 2 a week. Still, the hunger is definitely there. The kids and I baked sugar cookies today and I limited them to 2 cookies each... let's just say I didn't limit myself to even close to that!!

I have definitely been eating more. I have gained 6 pounds in the last month! I still eat even after I feel full, it's awful....

I think I need to weigh myself in the morning since i'll be 14 weeks. I feel like I've put lots on in the last couple weeks.

Ravenous! All.the.time! I try and stick to healthy snack (veggies, fruit, cheese, etc) but sometimes, all I want is a burger. I have only gained about 2 pounds but I feel like I am eating everything in sight. I am plus-size so the doc said I could only gain between 10 and 15 so at least I am on the right track.

I was like that with my first. I had completely stopped eating fast food before I got pregnant with her, but working full time and a constant craving for hamburgers drove me back into the drive through line a LOT! Hey baby wants what baby wants. With my DS it was donuts. Haven't had anything too dramatic hit me yet, but it's still early Wink

I find that sometimes I just want a taste in my mouth. So I try to drink a diet drink, or tea sweetened with Stevia. That helps me feel full and gives me flavor with adding calories. I need to do this more often, instead of eating.

I've always thought we should avoid diet anything while pregnant...aren't those artificial sweeteners bad news?

Stevia, nutrasweet, Equal or Splenda are ok during pregnancy. Of course within reason lol

I use Stevia at home and try to find things sweetened with Stevia at the store. Stevia is plant based and natural, so I don't feel bad about using it when pregnant.

Moderation is key with anything. I have drank my share of diet drinks in my past pregnancies... That being said, after some headaches I started experiencing, and then some articles I read on artificial sweeteners - I won't touch the stuff with a 10 foot pole now, pregnant or not!! I would eat pounds of sugar (and we know that's not good too) before I would ingest just one spoonful of a "diet" item. I do have to say though, Stevia sound relatively harmless. I haven't done any research myself on that one, but from the little bit I've heard about it, I think it's safe.

I think hubby did some research on Stevia a while back. Isn't it extremely highly processed? I don't know, I'm not a super healthy eater or anything...but I find it interesting.

Laurie, hubby was getting really bad headaches from the artificial sweetener he was using in his daily coffee a while back too. When he switched to sugar, they went away!

Still struggling with solid foods. I've basically been living on milkshakes. Mostly homemade so at least I know what's in them and I'm getting an actual serving of milk... but a few from McDonalds when I was too sick to clean the blender from the last milkshake! Smile The only other thing I can really stomach every day is yogurt.

The funny thing is that when I'm not pregnant, I can't tolerate dairy AT ALL.

I'm so ready to have an appetite again. I want to eat so badly, I'm even STARVING but my brain still says "No! You will not eat that!"
