Default Oliver's four month check up :/

Oliver lost five ounces and is down to 13-13. He had a respiratory virus so the doctor said it's completely normal and not to worry. We have a weight check in two weeks just to make sure he starts going back up. He is 24.75 inches. So his weight and height are right at average. His tiny little head is still in the 15th percentile. I'm so not used to that. Lucas's head is off the charts because it's so big.

Everything else looks good. He is meeting or exceeding all his milestones. In the doctor's words "you might be doing TOO good". Ha!

The bad news is he has a "hair tourniquette". A piece of hair wrapped around his toe really tightly and has to be surgically removed. Today. In 1.5 hours, actually. I'm kinda sick and nervous! it's not going to be fun for anyone involved. Ugh...

Poor guy!! I'm sure it will all go well and he will be just fine.

How does one get a hair tourniquette that has to be surgically removed? I've never heard about that before.

He had a hair wrapped around his toe. I thought it was just between his toes, not wrapped around. I tugged on it and it locked in and the long piece snapped off. It's not cutting off circulation yet but it would as he grows. His pediatrician was unable to remove it so now we move on to the surgeon.

Wow, that is pretty crazy...I've never heard of that before either. I hope the surgery goes smoothly.

Glad to hear your doc is not making a big deal of his weight loss. It sounds like he is doing great overall. Let us know how his 2 week weight check goes.

We are home. It went well. Oliver didn't exactly enjoy have the surgeon dig around in his toe. He had to break the skin all the way around because he had started to heal around it. Ew! But it's over now and he's content.

Poor Oliver! I've seen M get hairs wrapped around his hands. It's scary! I've heard you need to watch the little boy's diapers because they can get them wrapped around their penis!

I had to carefully unwind a hair a few weeks ago during bathtime!
