Hey this is Kia's other sister. She had one steroid shot yesterday before all the happened and should get her other one this morning.

Oh Kia, I'm so sorry that you have to go through this but I'm so glad you are in the right place now. It's great that your contractions stopped and you got your two shots of steroids! It definitely sucks that you can't see DD but it will be the best gift you can give her by baking that little girl of yours in there. Bake baby bake!
They monitored her for an hour at five am and there were a Three "episodes" in the beginning. I couldn't see the screen at all so I'm not sure what they meant. She did ask if I felt contractions and I only felt cramps. If they showed up as contractions then I've been having them since Tuesday. I did also hear her heart rate drop twice so they could have meant that too. I leak when I get up to use the bathroom but they don't want to make decisions until I see the specialist today. He may be as late as 2 they just came and told me. They said it may be a leak thats too small to test positive because of its location, but it didnt show ruptured membranes last night when i came. I have my second steroid shot at 9:40ish this morning. They did say for her gestational age she is doing much better than anticipated, she's very strong. We did pick a name on our drive down to the hospital 1 hr away plus rush hour. Emalyn Marie, a very strong willed girl and a fighter.
I'm glad things are still 'quiet' over there. It's weird that you leaked so much but are showing negative for ruptured membranes! When my friend's membranes tore it was just at small tear at the top of her uterus and the leaking was very much positional. Some positions would leak, others wouldn't. very odd.
I was wondering if they had a catheter in you or if you could get up to pee. I hope you can avoid the cath, but with the fluid they're pumping you full of you must have to pee a LOT.
I had another gush the nurse could see the fluid. Was negative for rupture. They took me to the specialist and there was plenty of fluid, even between the cervix and her so he can see its not ruptured but could be leaking. There was no second bad of waters that he could find (there was with dd1). The specialist said that he sees it happen where after the clot dissolves the cells that made it up still have plasma left in them and when they release them it mimics water breaking. his wife had it happen to her at 23 weeks after having a clot. They are keeping me at least another 24 hrs when they will do another check no mater what and do an amnio sure as well as blood work. I am also supposed to sit up more and mimic what i would do at home to be sure how my body will react if i go home. They will continue to monitor me and check every time I feel leaking. If all tests come back negative I will go home if any are concerning or positive the plan will change.
