Puffy Feet

My feet have been puffy feeling by the end of the day the last few days. Thoughts on what that could be? I've been drinking my water!

One of my close friends started retaining water with her first pregnancy at about week 20 for no apparent reason. She never had any issues with pre e or anything. Her feet were the worst.

I didn't get puffy feet with either pregnancy except the last few weeks with my first when I started getting pre e.

So it could mean something or nothing at all.

I didn't have any problems with DD. I had maternity photos at 38 weeks wearing my wedding bands. Not puffy at all! I don't get it! Sad It's hurting now too.

Edema can be nothing or mean something. I'd bring it up next visit. I had severe edema with dd and didn't get pre e till 35 weeks. I have edema now but not as bad as with dd yet.

Are you on your feet a lot during the day. With my first dd I started to get swelling and pain a bit toward the end of the day (started around 31-32 weeks I think?). I was on my feet ALL DAY at work though. I stopped working at 36 weeks, and it pretty much went away when I was able to sit down more during the day.

No, I'm hardly ever on my feet! LOL. I have a desk job so I sit a lot. I might try putting a foot rest under my desk to put my feet on. I just don't get what could cause it.

Heather, have you tried taking a short walk every 30 - 60 minutes. Even if it is just for 2-5 minutes. That is what is helping me.

It seems if I am on my feet too much, then I am swelling. If I sit at my desk all day, I'm swelling. But if I achieve some happy medium its better.

I was really swollen towards the end with DS. I looked like fred flinstone!

At least it will be spring/summer soon so flip flops won't look silly. I just don't like how it feels!

Just went to Payless today to buy two pairs of flats for this spring/summer. I usually do wear flip flops a lot in the summer but I scored some nice casual flats that are a little roomy to accommodate the swelling that I'm sure will occur in the next couple months!

Things haven't been so bad the last couple days but I've been moving around more and I'm not at my desk all day. I took my foot rest/ottoman down to my office though so I'll be all set for Tuesday. Wink
