How healthy of an eater do you consider yourself?
Average I guess. I eat fruits and vegetables- but not enough. I don't eat out more than 2-3 times a month (and that's the only time I eat anything fried). All cooking is primarily from scratch. I use white instead of whole wheat to make bread (from scratch). I eat lots of starchy stuff like potatoes. I definitely eat lots of sweet treats (but again, not processed - homemade). I don't drink any soda except once in awhile when I'm out, other then that it's just water and coffee. The meat we do eat is usually not as lean as it could be, but we eat so little of it, that in the end we probably end up with "less meat fat" them people who eat more meat. So it could be better, but it could certainly be a lot worse.
I'll admit I'm a pretty poor eater. I'm really working on incorporating more healthy foods into our meals but my mom NEVER cooked with vegetables when I was little so I struggle a lot. Luckily my kids love fruit and many veggies so they eat them as snacks but aside from onions and bell peppers, I'll go weeks between eating vegetables. I'm a little better about fruit because its sweet. But honestly I eat way too much sugar and high starch foods. I know with how active I am (non pregnant) that if I just ate better it would pay off way more but it's a hard habit to kick. Having kids does help though as I don't buy all the junk I used to so they don't ask for it.
I am not a good eater at all. I like healthy food just don't get to cook now. I will be better when I can shop and cook I think. Laurie I wish I could be as good as u someday. I want a bread maker too.
