Ok, I'm itchin' to travel in my second trimester. So where have you been on vacation that you really LOVED? What did you love so much about it? It can be anywhere...near your home or abroad.

After my first m/c, DH planned a trip to San Antonio for us to get away. We even left DS1 with my in-laws so it would just be us. It was hard for me to leave DS1 but it was a great trip. Lots of history, we went to the Alamo, lots of good food and I loved the river walk. I could have walked it all day. We stayed in a B&B on the river walk. It was a relaxing trip. I'd love to go back sometime.

Come to Edmonton Biggrin Then we could meet and Sandra (from the Canadian boards) is living here now too. You know you want to shop at the West Ed - they have a Pottery Barn now!

Anywhere in the Southwest US I approve of, I used to live in Albuquerque, and we day tripped to Santa Fe (which was nice but their streets were NARROW even for a Dodge Neon.) We also went camping in the mountains, I loved it, we grew up camping all the time so it was great fun. Also Chicago is great! Would love to go there for a longer vacation just because there is soooo much to do.

We don't travel much, but before we had kids, we went to Breckinridge. It was beautiful and, even though it took awhile to learn, I loved to ski! I wish we lived much closer to there, I would love to be able to take the kids when they are young, but that won't happen!

Ummmm...Edmonton in February? I don't think so!!! LOL!!

We are thinking of somewhere warm but staying in North America in case of a medical issue. Has anyone been to the South Carolina coast? Lynn, I'll have to look into San Antonio. DH mentioned wanting to go to Texas. I hear the meals are massive there so I best be PG when I go so I have less guilt about my portions. Blum 3

My favorite place I've been would probably have to be Rome. 11 years ago I went on a bus tour of Europe and I just LOVED Rome!

We have been to Hilton Head. It was really nice and is just about a 45 min. drive to Savannah, GA. Savannah is really gorgeous, also very historic. If you have a few days I'd drive in to Savannah too. DS1 was about 13 months old...I just have to share a pic of him coming from the beach. Smile

Aweeee, look at how cute that little guy is! We are Canadian so we aren't SUPER into US history, but some of it IS interesting. I can see us doing a few historic things, for sure. We aren't really 'laying on the beach' people either. We love small communities where you can wander around and visit various shops. As you know your choices of things to do on vacation are limited with a toddler in tow.

Yeah, I figured you might not be into much history but most historic towns are just really beautiful too. Smile

Oh, I like history...of any country...but there IS a point. Blum 3 Historic towns and buildings are awesome too. On this coast we don't have any buildings like the east coast has. It's such a new country here! A 100 year old building is old here!

hmmm, I was going to say Rome and Hawaii! LOL! but that doesn't really fit what you are looking for does it! ha ha.

so warm in February and within the US - have you ever been to New Orleans? I haven't been since Katrina, but loved the uniqueness of the city when I went back in 1997. I also love the Gulf Coast of Florida - specifically a little place called Anna Maria Island, Florida. It's just gorgeous and peaceful but more of a beach vacation. My dad likes Virginia Beach but I've never been there myself.

New Orleans IS on our list of places to go one day. I'm not sure what it's like now since Katrina though.

We just went to Honolulu last July and I'm in ZERO hurry to go back. Such a big city! I mean, we got stuck in rush hour! Yucky!

We did do Florida a bit on our honeymoon but there IS more to see. I've never been to the gulf coast. I'd love to go to the Keys but it looks expensive!

I was going to suggest MExico. loved it when we went (again for the 3rd time) and loved that it was 24 hr room service and everything was included! I also hear Maryland is nice too! Wink depending on where ya go....

Dh is pretty against Mexico right now because tourists keep getting killed there. Also, I'm not sure I want to have a medical emergency in Mexico...

Isn't Maryland cold in Feb/March? LOL

I've been to the SC coast. It was chilly in the summer. The only thing to so IMO was bar hop.

My fave place we've been was Nassau in the Bahamas. Expensive though!

We have a family condo in Mexico so we go there a lot. But I understand the concern. It makes me nervous if one of the kids get hurt because the medical care is very questionable. Hopefully it never happens!
