Yes, I have friends that say, "well you should have an easier time keeping your house clean, because you are at home." I find it is the complete opposite, it is so much harder to keep my house clean because we LIVE in it all day. I can clean up something and immediately someone is wrecking it!
I do enjoy it , though. There are just quite a few people out there that don't understand. Sorry for the rant!![]()
That's exactly how I feel!! Although, I do think it would give me a little more time to do laundry and cleaning. I feel like I spend the majority of the free time I do have with DS is spent cleaning, cooking and laundry.
The hope is one day to be a children's writer with the ability to be a SAHM the majority of the time![]()
Oh and hire someone to do the cleaning and laundry....I like to cook, so I'll keep that one.
I couldn't be a SAHM...I'd go insane. My actual job is easier than caring for ONE toddler, let alone several. I'm scared for my year off on maternity leave where I have TWO kids at home. Eeeek! We'll probably keep DD in daycare one day a week to keep her spot and to give me a break.
All these SAHM comments are cracking me up. I agree that people that haven't done it have no idea. I stayed at home with DS1 for the first 2 years and then went to work full-time after that. I was like, wow! working is so much easier! I actually enjoyed it which kinda made me feel guilty because I always wanted to be a SAHM. I have been home with DS2 for a year and work from home which i love but it would be much easier to go back to work. For now I will do the extra hard work it takes to raise my own kids while they are young.
I was a SAHM until dd1 was 5 and ds was 2 and then I had to work outside the home, after I had Malia I quit my accounting career and opened an in home daycare so I am a WAHM and have my 3 plus 5 extras. I can say, without a doubt, my dream job is being a SAHM.
