What are your plans for Christmas day?
This year we are taking it a little more easy than we normally do. We will open presents at home in the morning, of course. For lunch we will go to my husbands grandparents. And that is all. Normally we would go to my inlaws in the morning and then to my grandparents for a brunch. And finally to DH grandparents for supper. I am so glad it will be more relaxing this year!
We will spend Christmas morning at home and do our stockings, presents, and brunch. We are away from family this year, so it will be odd to be not with the IL's or my family on Christmas morning, but it should be nice.
In the afternoon we are going to pack ourselves up and go to the huge waterpark at West Edmonton Mall! We thought it would be fun to do something different and a bit crazy!
Then we'll come home and maybe BBQ some steak for supper. Out in the mounds of snow.
My family comes on the 26th for a few days, so that will be nice. But we'll have our own little Christmas Day this year!
Christmas Eve we have Christmas with my father in laws parents, then we have dinner and open exchange gifts and white elephant gifts with DH's parents. Christmas morning we will watch El open presents then go to DH's parents for gifts and food, etc. My moms is the 29th but I am stuck here, so I will miss that. My sisters and Dad will be coming here tomorrow to celebrate! Sorry i added more than just Christmas day.
Well, it's just our little family this year. Stockings, presents, and a special breakfast in the morning. Last year we went up on Sandia Peak on Christmas day, and that was fun. I think we were talking about making that a Christmas tradition, so we'll see if we decide to do that again.
We'll have Christmas morning here with just the kids, then off to my mom's for brunch, then back home for naps, then off to the in-laws for the rest of the day (open presents with his parents and siblings, then they'll have dinner with extended family). Kind of a lot to cram into the day but gotta make sure we please everyone I guess.
DH has to work in the morning. We are supposed to go to his moms house, but I am not sure. We are doing Christmas with my family on Sunday.
We are the grandparents. We usually travel to Alberta to visit Sarahsunshine and her family, but this year we will celebrate as a twosome and visit later on.
My wish is for a VERY QUIET Christmas. I plan on making a nice breakfast, opening a few gifts, working together on a puzzle, walking the dog... DH will likely play his guitar and we'll sing a few songs. Then I bet he'll nap...while I read or knit. I plan on making a roast and a cranberry dessert.
We plan on a Skype visit at some point, but understand things will be hectic with the large extended family events out west!
DS is in Alabama where he is waiting to have stitches removed after an accident where he fainted and fell. So I hope he keeps us posted on progress there!!! Never a dull moment!
We'll do Christmas morning here at home. DSD will be here too so it will be the 4 of us...plus my mom. She'll probably show up fairly early. She will do gift opening with us and then have breakfast. There will be some relaxing and playing with our new stuff and then it will be nap time for K and my mom (tee hee). After nap we'll go to MIL's house and open gifts there...then have dinner. That's about it. My mom often comes to MIL's house too, so she's not alone.
christmas eve we go to dh's family and have a huge chrismtas party with all the cousins and exchange gifts, chrismtas day we'll open gifts and then head to my parents to exchange gifts and do christmas lunch, we'll meet up with a family friend and exchange gifts with them and then go to my inlaws to exchange our gifts with them
Sounds fun. Just so you know there are stores at the WEM that are open on Christmas day.... I had to work at Galaxyland one Christmas day and hated it but I had no family so I got to be the one to work...
We did have the nice quiet Christmas...but the day after things got way more lively! DS left Alabama with stitches in his forehead and arrived in Detroit to see a friend. We picked him up there and drove back to our farm. We've enjoyed having him with us, but have done a great deal of driving about. Last night we had a fancy French restaurant meal in Buffalo, then he took the bus to NYC.
Now back to winter...and less food!!!
We managed to include a Skype exchange with the kiddos, and later a phone call too. They were full of chatter about gifts and travels. Too funny!
