I've always liked my name.
I even think that its funny that I am named after a french prostitute (or so my mother says) from Sidney Sheldon's the other side of midnight.
I love my name. It was my grandmas grandmas name, but spelled Caya.
Ooooh, is that how it's pronounced then? I thought it was Key-a. :(Quote:

The only thing I have always felt is that I would prefer my middle name to end in an "H" instead of an "A". But I'm glad my mom got the spelling rights to my first name, since I prefer how she spelled it over how my dad wanted to. I like my name. Heather is not SUPER common, but common enough that people know how to spell it and pronounce it. I've been asked once to spell my name for someone and all I could reply was 'pardon me? Heather?'. LOL. My mom chose my middle name (Amy) and my dad chose my first name. Initially my mom wanted 'Amy Heather' but as she got to pick my older brother's first name...my dad won this time and I became 'Heather Amy'. Thank goodness. I like that better. :D
Another name they wanted for me prior was Jennifer. I'm SO glad that a family friend had a baby before I was born and used Jennifer...forcing them to find something new. Jennifer is a nice name, but just SO common. Too common for me. The funny thing is that I've been accidentally called Jennifer more times in my life than any other name...by people who don't know the story. Perhaps I look like one?
They had no boy names chosen for me because my mother hand convinced herself I was a girl. Luckily she was right! :P
I like my name now, so unique. Growing up I didn't love it though lol So many people didn't know how to pronounce it. I liked my middle name better but once I got into HS, I loved it.
