What is one splurge item you'd love for this baby?

Since this is #4, and the last 2 were boys as well, it is hard to justify buying anything new!

I did buy some Aden and Anais blankets, which I've never had before, so I'm pretty excited about that! I also am planning to buy a new stretchy wrap - I have a Moby and a Boba already, but I want a nice, lightweight stretchy wrap (planning on the Solly Baby bamboo wrap) for the hot summer months.

Other than that, I keep drooling over Petunia Pickle Bottom bags, but I just bought 2 of them for #3 in 2011 so I probably won't be splurging again!

A double stroller and a medela swing breast pump to keep in my new ppb diaper bag. I also just bought 3 woombie old fashion air wrap swaddling blankets for the new bassinet and chicco liteway stroller I also just purchased lol. I wouldn't mind a better carrier of some kind but idk which to get. I have a moby already.

a new house. Wink

Our splurge will be a double all-terrain stroller and I would like a vera bradley diaper bag.

I think I'd like a new wrap (I have a moby, but its hard to put on I think) Any suggestions?

I bought my medela pump in style off ebay for DS. It was never used and I saved over $100 on it.

Are you looking for a wrap, or a carrier? Pretty much all stretchy wraps have the same basic wrapping instructions, so keep on wrapping until you get the hang of it! I like my Moby, but I find the fabric quite thick (which is good for support, but not to steamy summer months) so I'm getting a thinner one. You could always try another stretchy wrap, or you could go for a woven wrap. Stretchy wraps are only good for front carries, and only until baby is about 20 lbs, or 1 year old. If you plan to babywear for longer than that, a woven wrap would be smarter. Woven wraps are NOT stretchy, and you can do tons of different carries with them (front, back, hip, lots of different styles) - just remember that baby should never face away from your body. They can also be used for newborns as well.

I plan to get a bamboo stretchy wrap (way thinner material) from Solly Baby. I might splurge on a woven wrap later on.

Or you could try out a SSC like an Ergo, Boba, or Beco. All good choices! You might want to go to a baby boutique and try on a bunch of different wraps and carriers to see what you like!

I really would love a new video monitor. Mine isn't digital so it has a ton of static and it only can accomodate 2 cameras and you have to manually switch between them (it doesn't scan). The one I want is like $250 buuuuut I think I'll just make do with a sound only monitor in my oldest's room for the occasional nights she has nightmares (my room is at the opposite end of the house from the kids so I can't hear them unless they're SCREAMING).

I'm definitely getting some Aden and Anais blankets as I didn't have those last time...but I don't want gender neutral so I'm waiting to get those.

Since I don't buy a lot new, yesterday I treated myself to a Rock n Play. The lamb one! It's so soft!

Hmm....

I'm not much into "stuff" it all feels like clutter to me. Maybe a thinner wrap for the pool since we will be there every day all summer. My Moby is dark blue and that won't be fun in the hot summer months.

Ohhhhhh...we got an Ergo in the summer in anticipation of this baby. I can't wait to try it! I also have a sling and a wrap (like a Moby Wrap). I have a feeling this baby will be worn a lot.

I want a Chicco Liteway stroller (which isn't available in Canada) but I'm going to hold off right now. I won't use it for a while now an so it seems like a lot to spend money on today (going back to Canada tonight).

I just got one on Craigslist for $15! Thanks again to my sister for picking it up.

Yeah, my Moby is chocolate brown and I KNOW I will not use it in the summer. Maybe you should get a water wrap or ring sling if you will be by the water all summer!

I love Aden & Anais blankets. Unfortunately, so does my DS who uses them as his "blankies"...he has to have at least 2 of them with him to sleep. One that he's had since he was born finally wore a HUGE hole through it. But considering how much he uses them, they can take a LOT of torture and better yet, they clean up perfectly unlike my DD's "blankie" that is minky and I've had to remake once already due to how nasty it got.

that's us too. DS has to have one for naps, cuddling, and sleeping. I love them and they are so durable.

I will be doing 'girl" ones for our LO on the way so that I can tell the difference when I wash them and don't take any away from DS

I am just super sensitive to the heat. It BUGS me to be hot beyond all annoyance. I find the Moby fabric quite thick, and since it's such a dark color too, I just know I will boil in it. Since I will be chasing an 18 month old around all summer, I decided a lightweight wrap will be a must!

I have heard fairly good things about Baby Ktan, but have never tried one myself.

I have a stretchy wrap and I wore DD in it WELL past 20lbs (considering she was that at 6 months). I still put her in it at 18 months sometimes. I agree that I didn't like her facing away, but that was because I have a big chest, and it just put the balance too far in front.

We will get a new carrier since we a) hated the one we were given for DD and b) only have one wrap and DH doesn't like wearing it. We're probably going to get an Ergo. And then of course we have to think of car seats/stroller options.

If you are in the US, your insurance should be required to cover the cost of a breast pump with new obama care stuff. If you are needing a new pump, you should check into it.

I got one with my dd, I wanted one for my diaper bag for those times she gets a bottle at the in laws and I need to pump. With dd I did it by hand each time, lol. Maybe they will supply new parts for each one since its been almost a year since they were used...

Just FYI on this...it really varies on your insurance. My insurance will only provide a manual pump or a percentage of a rental. But I know people who's insurance will fork out for a nice, brand new Medela!

ditto

I looked into it last time as well and it required a doctor's script and only for a manual. Wasn't worth the hassle.
