For the crafters out there...what have you crafted for new baby? What do you plan to make before he/she is born?

Not a crafter!

My two oldest kids have wooden letters that spell their names. I never got any for #3, so eventually I'd like to get letters for #3 and #4. I usually paint them and make them pretty. We don't have any hanging in this house because we are renting and will only be here another year, but when we move to a new place, I'd love to get all 4 their names hanging up over their beds.

I haven't done it yet, but I got a couple of dressers for free off of craigslist, and while they are structurally sound, they have cup rings and other marks on them. I haven't decided exactly what I want to do, I have seen some interesting designs that were painted on or possibly get a couple of posters or something and decoupage them on.

I have crocheted a couple of hats, and made a quilt. I am in the process of crocheting a blanket and a Mickey Mouse diaper cover/hat set. I have a burp cloths, sewing a blanket, and crocheting a few pairs of booties on my list of things to get done. I will also do some letters once we have a name.

We do the name letters too but since we aren't finding out the sex this time, we'll have to wait on that!

I just started a knit sleep sack thing (and hat) today that I wanted to start months ago. I have already made a couple hats for newborn photo shoot props. I really want to make a bunch more hats too. I have a photographer who buys my hats as props a lot so I asked her if she'd do a newborn shoot for me in trade for the props. She said she was interested...so SCORE 'free' newborn photos!

We painted wooden letters too for DD. But since she only got her own room a couple months ago, she got to help paint them which she loved! I tried crocheting a blanket for DD, but it was a massive fail - it had been too long since I learned and I was never that great in the first place. So I'm going with nothing this time around.

I have no plans for any crafts either. I don't knit, crochet or any of that. But I'll have fun decorating her room once we put the boys together and she moves out of our bedroom.

Great job bartering Heather! I think that's awesome Smile

I wouldn't call myself a crafter, but I cross stitch and make christmas stockings.

DS has one, I am almost finished with mine and I will start on DD's soon. Actually, I will probably put mine on hold or give her mine since it has a little boy and girl on it. Haven't decided yet.

It takes me forever, so if I give her the one I have been working on then it will be ready by christmas, if I start new it takes me almost a year to finish one.

That's what I had started for dd and dd2 but its hard to do laying down...I'm guessing they will be done by the time they are in their teens lol

Oh geeze, thanks for the reminder. I knit all of our stockings and will need to make one for baby too! Our names are on them so I'll have to wait to find out what name we end up using first. UGH, making those stockings was brutal!
