I'm pretty lenient but my kids don't sit and watch it all that much. They both like to "have a show" when they wake up in the morning/after nap but otherwise it's mostly background noise. I've actually been trying to turn it off when we aren't watching it to save power lately. I mix "educational" stuff with fun stuff so I feel okay about it

We watch some shows together after DH gets home from work and DS will watch some later in the evening, we have a much larger problem prying him from the computer games.

I am way too lenient. I have recently tried to cut down on their screen time - between the iPad, the Nintendo DS, the Leapster, and the TV, they were just sitting around WAY too much. I have taken away the iPad during the week now - they can only use it on weekends. It will be easier, I think, once summer comes. Then they LOVE to play outside, but 6 months of snow and winter gets a little old, and they are cooped up.

I often just have the TV on as background noise too. I need to be better at this. My DD usually watches shows for most of the morning (she has afternoon Kindergarten) and my DS1 watched shows from about 3:00-4:30 pm, when he gets home from his full-day preschool. He is only 4 and spends 5 hours a day at school, so I don't feel bad about letting him do what he wants at home until supper.

Then usually the kids play together, and will watch a show together before bed.

I generally try to limit them to one 30 minute show a piece per day. That doesn't always happen, but most of the time it does. We do have "family shows" that we watch at night sometimes too.

    I'm too lenient as well.

He gets a 30 minute show in the morning (helps me get ready)
and usually gets 30 - 60 minutes worth before book time and bed time.

On the weekends, the TV is on alot for background noise, and I have to admit that is what I like to do in my free time as well.

On the upside, the weekend shows he watches are usually really educational and I'm ok with them (super why, sesame street, lots of PBS stuff) Weekday shows are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, and Gaspard & Lisa.

Friday nights are movie night and he gets to pick a movie to watch (lately alot of Madagascar....he likes to "move it, move it" lol! )

I am bad... Dd only pays attention to a few shows and otherwise just likes to dance to the songs. It is on all day between everyone who watches her there's a good variety, lately I am reading while they watch a show and she plays. It will be different when I am not on bed rest, I will Change my ways but pretty much it's just background for her

We are strict! She sometimes watches her "your baby can read" videos on the computer, but that was more so earlier in the pregnancy. Otherwise we tried to put on one show when me and DH had gastro and were desperate, it was good for 10 minutes. Once in a while DH watches a few minutes of hockey or hockey highlights with her. We love tv, but only watch when she's sleeping. One time she saw them cooking something and was really interested (we turned it on to set the pvr) but she doesn't ever ask for it since we've been so good about keeping it off always when she's awake.

No TV at all - just videos. About an hour a day. No one in our house watches TV during the day. In the evening after the kids are in bed, DH and I watch some.

Other than the occasional news on during dinner (background) for DH and I, there's no TV on a school night for DD. She's almost 10 if that makes a difference..

He and I watch it once she's in bed..
