We usually go once a week, and occasionally throw in another special visit to costco or target.
We meal plan for the week and rarely go for extras.
I try to stick with a no meat night, chicken night, pasta night, something with rice, beef, something bread related like sandwiches or breakfast for dinner, etc. So that there is a variety. We also try to rotate through recipes that we know we like and occasionally throw in a new one to test out. I have found a lot of good recipes on pinterest as well as some simple and easy ones.
This week we are having:
breakfast for dinner (pancakes/bacon)
grilled cheese w/tomato soup
potstickers w/egg drop soup
indian food w/rice
Thanks for the ideas I've got to get the meal planning and one shopping trip thing figured out. I just need to get a system set up and make it a habit. What we are doing now is so unfriendly to the budget and being healthy. It's too easy to grab some unhealthy convenience food when there is no plan.
