How often do you get to shower right now with a newborn?
I'm about to jump in the shower now but the last time was Tuesday afternoon. It's not usually that bad though...I have been trying to get things done around the house and haven't made it a priority. I'd say its usually more like every other day.
After M was born I was told to have an epsom salt bath once or twice a day...so I was pretty clean for a while there. I think I had a bath EVERY night for 4 weeks (except one night). Now I'm easing up a bit on it because it was so time consuming. That said, I chose to sit in there for over an hour and watch netflix.
Lucky for me, H almost always falls asleep to the sound of the shower so I get one pretty much every day still. With my first, I'd go days between because she would cry anytime I put her down until I realized it was worth letting her cry for 6 minutes so I could feel (and smell) human again.
Well, while 8 isn't old enough to babysit for real, it is plenty old enough to watch baby brother while mommy showers! So I get to shower every morning. It's fantastic. I recommend everyone with a baby have an 8 year old in the house.
That's what I'm doing wrong...I'm definitely in need of an 8 yr old. If I had just baby I could get one more often...it's the combo of the older 2 that makes it hard. I can't trust them to behave while I shower. I used to get up early enough to shower before they woke up but I'm way too tired for that now. I have stayed up later to get one but I get in bed so late as it is. My schedule is all messed up and I can't seem to get it together. Baby steps...
Pretty much daily. I'll wait for nap time or when dh gets home. It's my only alone time
I am fortunate enough that DH is home with me and since I am not functional (and super mean) if I have not had a shower... DH lets me get one every morning while he watches the kids.
