Noah has gotten VERY fussy the last couple of days and is snacking mroe than eating. He's been a spitupper but today when he spit up it was clear and not the white formula color it normally is? Wondering if maybe we are starting to develop reflux? I am not familiar with this as DS1 did not have it.... For the ones that have little ones tha have had it.. what are some of hte signs? (the dr wasnt concerned with the spitting up at his last appt and he was gaining weight great)
I haven't had any experience with it either so no advice. Just wanted to say I hope you get it figured out and your little guy is happier soon. It's hard at this age when you have no idea why they are so fussy.
Kennedy had reflux. I don't recall anything about clear spit-up specifically but I have a very bad memory.
What we did for K's reflux is we never laid her flat...especially after she ate. We had a sleeping wedge that we borrowed from our local Child Development Center and we propped the head of her change table up too. NEVER leave them flat.
As for the snacking and fussing. I notice M snacks more when he's fussy...and his current fussiness is because of gas. We have had to start doing leg exercises with him and tummy massage to help work the gas out. When he's in pain from the gas he will nurse but not seriously...I think it's due to his pain and because eating helps work the gas out, sometimes it helps him. When I notice he really isn't HUNGRY then I usually stop him from eating.
Could it be that Noah is having gas pain and acting hungry to help with the pain. If that's the case then perhaps he's getting over filled and that's causing him to spit up? Just a guess.
Heather- I know he has gas and I have been doing the leg stuff and tummy massage. I dont think he's over full... he spit up at the hospital and all he was getting was the colostrum. he can be super hunger (like when he sleeps long stretches) and eat a whole bottle or he can have a sip and will still spit up. (I never go anywhere without a change of clothes for me!) I was just confused by the clear. He is usually in his swing or bouncer so not usually flat.
DS1 had terrible reflux. He spit up all the time, clear and white! It was awful, and the medicine didn't help him much either. I think Jonah may have slight reflux. He spits up a little, but he also gets choked up and coughs, which is what makes me think it is reflux. I haven't taken him to the doctor but I am going to bring it up at his 2 month check. He doesn't seem to be too bothered by it. And his spit up is always white curdled looking milk.
