Something is happening!

I had a restless sleep and then gave up around 3:50 am. I think the contractions were waking me. I started timing them and they are last 1 min and are 5 mins apart. They hurt quite a bit and I can't talk through them. At 4:20 am I went pee and had bloody show.

Since sitting up they seem shorter but I think the bloody show warrants something. I just hate waking people up! LOL. It would be especially bad if it weren't real. :P. I'm probably in denial.

DTD, and walk a lot!!! Honestly, even if things slow, if you did have bloody show labor is usually within a day or two - I seem to be the only person that holds out as long as a week!! Wink

They seemed stronger laying on my left side in bed, oddly. The were at the 1 min mark and hurting. Since getting up they're as frequent but only about 45 seconds and not as painful. Seems backwards.

I'd just keep walking around. If they were longer in bed that's actually a good sign. Contractions tend to be more painful laying down (at least in the beginning) and perhaps you notice the start of them sooner when laying down vs walking around (not as painful)??? Try doing some lunges maybe?

Yay for contractions! I would say try to go about your day, as much as possible, as you normally would. If it's the real deal (which it sounds very promising) your body will keep progressing.

Personally, I think trying not to obsess about what my body is doing will be the hardest part. It's so different when labor starts without rupture of membranes...that's a sure sign it's baby time. These come and go contractions are confusing! :goodluck:

I'm bouncing on the ball. They are still the same frequency. Lunges an DTD sound exhausting. You really ARE super woman!

I agree, she needs a cape!

what you are describing is what is happening to me. They are very, very strong in bed. But once I get up and start my day, that's it. They stop or become very mild again. I've been bouncing on my ball all morning too.

I really, really hope this is it for you.

That's crazy you guys!! It's always opposite for me - contractions are there when standing and walking, and die out when laying down. Another example of how everyone's bodies are different!!

Still bouncing on my ball. They are every 4-ish mins but only lasting 45 seconds or so. Still manageable. DD should be up soon. Hoping to get her to daycare as normal as possible.

At least they are close together! It was so frustrating when I KNEW I was in labour but they wouldn't get any closer than 12 minutes apart!

I keep forgetting how much earlier it is where you are!

Im going home from the pool and bouncing on my ball until my appointment at 1:45 (eastern). My goal is to just go ahead and birth this baby on the exam table during my appointment. Blum 3

Ya, it's almost 7:30am here.

They seem to be spacing out to 6 mins so I got off the ball.

DD says she's feeling sick (we're fighting a head cold). It's her last days of full time daycare. She needs to go! LOL

I agree that the bloody show is definitely a sign of things ahead. Good luck, I hope it's soon!!

Things are a bit slower but still happening. Hubby is getting DD ready for daycare. I'm having a snack. The doula thinks it slowed down because of my concern for DD. Once she's safely at daycare we might try walking. The doula also suggested dancing and baking. LOL

YOu know Heather, my contractions slowed down when I was putting the kids to bed this time... then once they were settled, BAM!!

That's right! Hummmm...

DH has left with DD for daycare. She had a nice calm morning and isn't suspecting much. That's good news. We pinned a key in her backpack in case my mom needs to pick her up. I just called the midwife and gave her the 'heads up'. She's not coming now as things aren't super crazy right now...I can still talk through contractions. I told her about the bloody show too and she was pretty excited. I guess she didn't want me to be induced either. Blum 3

Things are still quiet but I should start doing something to get them moving. I'm just so lazy. Blum 3

IF you had bloody show your cervix might be in a better position now... any chance you could see the midwife and possibly get your membranes stripped now?! Smile

True! She said to call when I wanted to be checked. If things speed up I'll call.

I had more contractions last night after the attempted sweep, then we DTD which helped. They're stronger again so I'm trying the bath. It was too painful laying down and the ball was starting to bug me.

Contraction timer says I've had 114! Wow!

Wow, mine will only record 20 and then I have to erase the data and start over. That's what you get with the free app instead of paid, ha!

I only paid $1 for the app

The midwife came to check me. My contractions slowed down as soon as she got here and made me look like a liar. She did a check. I'm 1cm and she was able to do a sweep (you were right Laurie!). She called the hospital so they could start my chart and said I'm in 'very early labour'. She told me to rest and call later.

The funniest part was we needed a firm pillow to prop me up on for the check. Hubby has a water pillow! Perfect! Sorry about that pillow honey. Blum 3

I'm having excruciating upper thigh pain with each contraction. Ideas?

No clue on the hip pain but yippee for labor! Hope the pain gets better and that you have an easy labor.

I get you... I had 73 hours of labour and only 12 of those with an epidural... it sucked but the end result is a beautiful baby.

Hubby is rubbing my thigh muscles really hard during the contractions and it's really helping. I had more bloody show too.

This is it!! Smile Oh Heather, I'm so excited. Smile Fabulous idea to have hubby rub your thighs for the contractions. Keep up the good work.

I'm still keeping on. What we're doing is working so we can only hope my body is progressing. The midwife called at 4:30 but we told her just to go home. No reason to come. If she finds us at 3cm I'll have to go to the hospital. This is nicer!

My mom is picking DD up from daycare and taking her to her house for dinner, then here for bed.

The last update I heard from heather was that contractions were very strong and "this sucks!" Smile I'd guess she was very close at that point, hopefully. That was about two hours ago.
