Well it was so/so.
Good news is baby girl is head down and heartbeat was great.
1. Up another 8 lbs (making it 24+) and since I started at at higher weight they are concerned (although I was about a size 12/sometimes 14, I weighed 218 on their scale, now I am 244. I'm 5'9" and have always weighed more than I look. When I was a size 4/6 I weighed 145lbs)
2. I am measuring at 34 weeks
3. had to schedule a sizing ultrasound for next week because the doctor is worried about me having to have a c-section
4. Told me to be prepared on not passing my GT
So of course I started bawling my eyes out at my appointment.
I don't understand because my other doctors (this is the new one to the practice - there are 3 of them) didn't mention any worries for the last several appointments. I'm not perfect, but I eat fruits and veggies and am not "eating for two". I have been watching my intake and she want me to cut back more to try to maintain and not gain anymore weight. She wants me to work out everyday (walking to the exertion of not being able to hold a conversation - which seems contrary to everything I have ever read about working out and pregnancy). As someone obsessed with dieting my whole life, her recommendations seemed a little off base (like she made a big deal about me using 2% milk once a day with my cereal...seriously if its 1/2 cup that would be alot)
Just stressed out, worried, blaming myself. Boo
I'm so sorry. I wouldn't listen to her about the working out or cutting your food, that's ridiculous! I hope everything turns out. Could u talk to one of the others for their opinions?
Oh wow! I'm bigger (and way shorter) than you and have never heard anything from my doc about exercising to the point of not being able to hold a conversation. I think as long as you're eating healthy than it's fine! I would definitely try to talk to one of the other doctors about it. Plus, you didn't have any bad news before AND this is a new doc to the practice - one who might be "trying" too hard. (((HUGS)))) don't stress! Just smack the doctor!
Oh that just plain sucks!! I'm sorry...
I don't think gaining 24 lbs is anything to be worried about. Sure, we'd like to keep the weight gain to a minimum, but if you are being fairly healthy then what else can you do? I don't think you should have to exercise heavily at this stage in a pregnancy.
Sorry for the slightly yucky appt :(
I'm thinking about switching my next appointment to one of the other doctors instead of her. Not sure yet though.
She felt really bad that she made me cry.
