    Default Toddler bed

We scored a sweet deal on a toddler bed yesterday so we were able to free up DD's crib for newbie! Her crib is a convertible so she was using it as a toddler bed anyways...but it was a $500 crib and we are NOT buying a second. A friend was selling a white wood sleigh style bed for $50 so we snapped it up. It could use some paint, but whatever. We didn't NEED it for a few months but I'd had my eye on the bed for a while now and so when she emailed me I was all over it. I also wanted some distance between DD being in the 'crib' and a newbie being in it.

Here she is all snuggled in last night. LOL. She was so excited and it works perfectly in her room!

Weeeeee! So excited! I love 'preparing'. LOL

    Default Speaking of Toddler Beds

The past thread brought on this question.

DS is going to need to give up his toddler bed (the crib) for the baby. We have a extra bed, but its a queen. I'm not sure if that will be too overwhelming. But if we don't give him that bed, I don't know what to do with it (Its my MIL's and she doesn't want to sell it).

Do you think a queen is entirely too large for a 3 yr old (will be almost 4 at time of baby)?

We moved DS into a queen sized bed when he was about 18 months! We put rails on it, of course. It was all we had when it came time to move him out of his crib. Yes it was a little big, but it works!

Cute! My DD has that exact same toddler bed in black. Nice score!

We plan to move her into a Queen bed before this baby comes because she is getting a new room and that's just what's in it. Unless of course, she resists moving then we'll just get another toddler bed and her and DS will share a room until she's ready to go to the big bed. i'm also worried about moving DS to a bed because he's wild and I just don't know if he'll be mature enough to stay in bed so baby may be sleeping in the bassinet in his/her room for a bit too. Lots of possibilities

adorable! I love Kennedy's room - so pretty!

I don't think a queen is too big if it's what you have, use it! Plus, it's nice to have space to curl up next to the toddler when they are sick!

Awww. she looks so small in the bed! Should last a long time!
We are using a toddler bed like that for DS1 (4) he is outgrowing it though so we thought about getting bunk beds and the boys can share a room, but DS1 is still alittle young and still in his crib. We hope he is ready to move to DS2's room by the time baby is 6 months.
It is definitely fun to prepare!

I don't think so...especially if it's what you have and you have room for it. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to specially buy a queen if I didn't already have one though. For us, space is an issue. We are in a 3 bedroom house, DSD has one kids room and DD has the other. It's looking like the two younger ones are going to be sharing even though DSD isn't even here full time. Anyways..... DD's room is very oddly shaped and there isn't a lot of wall space...so if we need to put a crib in there too, we'll need the extra room a toddler bed affords.

Thanks! DH LOVED painting it (sarcasm) when I was pg last time. "Honey, I know you hate painting, but let's put STRIPES on baby's wall!"....you can imagine he was all over that! :P Ok, not so much. We bought the low fumes paint but he still wouldn't let me near it. I did, however, perform the daunting task of taping off all the stripes before he painted. Oh man. I'm so glad we are here for a while because that was SO much work! This is another angle, from before she was born. I insisted on the chandelier and silly DH actually ARGUED with a pg woman about it! Seriously? Anyways, I won. :P

When she stretches out she's a bit bigger, but none too big. I hope it lasts a year or two anyways!
