Thread: ultrasound today! update pg 2

i am excited and nervous about today. My u/s is at 1:50 (central time) and it is with my ob. Do you think ill also have blood work done, if so i should load up on water and make sure i have a shirt thats easy to pull up the sleeves. Do you think they will take urine too? I am nervous and need to relax.

Is this your initial prenatal check-up this pregnancy? If so, I would say yes they'll likely take blood and they'll most certainly have you PIAC. I don't think I've ever had a prenatal appointment where I didn't have to PIAC.

I can't wait to hear how it goes! No idea about the rest of it. Honestly, when I use to see an OB they always sent me to a lab for bloodwork, so that was always separate. Now I see midwives at a stand alone birth center, and they just do everything they need to there on the spot as they need it... except they don't have an ultrasound machine, so we are sent elsewhere for that!

My OB always makes me PIAC too so I'd plan on it. And with my first appt, they take blood as well so make sure you aren't going in on an empty stomach! But it all depends on your doc.

ok i shaved my legs, figured that was necessary. i have had blood work right when we found out we were pregnant. I am thinking they will still run blood work, idk. i havn't seen this ob yet so im a bit nervous. also a new hospital so i was gonna ask for a tour of the birthing center. why am i nervous?
