I just found out that two other people that I know are expecting just a week or two after me, so that is exciting! I am staring to get anxious to feel the baby move. I know it won't be a lot longer until I probably will. I love that part! I am excited too because I know the kids will love being able to feel the baby move! They both insist that it is a boy.
All you crafty ladies put me to shame. :)
So yesterday we told our kids :D I was walking around tidying up and DH was sitting on the couch with the kids reading them some books. He said, "Why do you think Mommy's tummy is getting big? Does it look big or small?" They said, "It looks big!" My 5 year old DD said promptly, 'Maybe there is another baby in there?!?!" So we told her that there was. She was pretty excited. She really wants it to be a girl because "We don't have a girl baby, and we already have a boy baby." DS1 didn't believe that there was a baby in there LOL. He kept saying "My tummy is small. Yours is big." Now we just have to hope that DD kind of forgets about it in the next few weeks because she is spending a week with my IL's BEFORE we are telling them, and we don't want her to spill the beans. I don't think she will - she isn't really a "talker" like that.
Then, my Dad came :) We hugged when he got here and he said "You look good!" I saw him do a small glance to the belly but he never said anything. We spent the night at a church Christmas party and didn't even tell him til we got home LOL. He was surprised and I think a bit shocked but I think he was pretty happy. He agreed that my granny is going to FLIP OUT when she finds out (his mom), so we told him maybe she will take comfort in the fact that this is our LAST one! He agreed not to say anything to them or anyone, so it's up to me to either call my granny or just wait and send her the photobook at Christmas with the announcement.
Anyways, it was a good day :) A few people at church asked me as well, so the word is getting out. Just 2 more weeks before we see the IL's and tell them! Then just my mom, stepdad, and sisters will be left.
My girls REALLY wanted a boy last time, and they got their wish. Hopefully your kiddos will too. :-)Quote:

The amount we save in taxes will totally cover the cost of raising this child from birth until age 18!!!!!!!" Insanity!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I'm just a little disappointed... :-(

Sandra im surprised your dad didn't figure it out! Im glad your DD is excited about having another baby. My DD is supper excited (tho she may not quite understand.) When i ask her "Wheres your baby" she looks at my belly. She gives the belly kisses and blows kisses to the pics of the baby. Shes too cute.
Pollo_la, as i am sitting down/laying down all the time i already feel the flutters, as if the baby is hitting the walls of the uterus. Im so happy your kids are excited and hopefully they can feel the baby move soon.
I envy those that can knit. all i do is crochet so its very slow! I also make mobiles, Sew, make jewelry, and pretty much anything crafty.
Laurie: so sorry your dad feels that way. It is what it is and it's done so just be supportive or at least keep your mouth shut. *hugs*
Kia: I wish I could knit too but don't have the time to learn (or to do anything for that matter). I can crochet a square...does that count? hahaha I do sew but nothing too exciting...blankets and such.
Sandra: so funny that you had to tell your dad. Sorry his mom will be less than excited. Some people just need to let others handle their own business and not feel like they are the authority on everything KWIM? My mom wasn't exactly excited about us having another baby, but she sort of feels like it's our deal, not hers so whatever makes us happy. Anyway, glad word is getting out :)
Leah: that's so fun! I have FOUR FB friends who have announced pregnancies in the last month and two close friends are TTC. Love years where there's a lot of babies :)
Boring day here. The wind is blowing so hard that it almost knocked me off my feet when I went outside. We have very heavy patio furniture and one of our chairs got blown to the other side of our yard! I won't be surprised to see lots of blown over trees tomorrow. We are babysitting my 4-year-old niece today so I let my 3-year-old blow off her nap so they can play and that is proving to be a bad idea! My niece likes to boss my DD around and when she's tired it makes her cry :rolleyes: Thinking of baking some cookies to occupy them for a bit.
Laurie: I can't believe all your dad is thinking...actually more like what he is SAYING. Keep your opinions to yourself! Grrrrr! My dad has been a bachelor for over 30 years and is VERY opinionated. Ok, I think he was like that before. Anyways, he pretty much thinks anything that doesn't jive with his beliefs is wrong and will tell anyone anytime what he thinks. He and my brother don't talk because if that...but me, I just tell him to keep his opinions to himself. I'm not telling him how to live his life and he shouldn't be telling me how to live mine! Grrrrr! I would probably tear a strip off my dad if he said the stuff your dad said!
Oh man. I hate it when people are rude, especially family. It makes me crazy when people object to healthy people with loving marriages and family having more kids. Totally not even their position to judge, since they seem to be the pessimistic ones.
