Last night we had a late night at DH's Christmas party, so I was TIRED this morning. At least DS2 only got up once for a bottle at 5 am. Twice this week he was up 2 times a night.

Today I am cleaning the house, have to run to the store to pick up a few ingredients to make a dessert, and my Dad is coming to visit tonight! He is in town teaching a course. He'll stop by around supper time and we'll spend the evening over at our church Christmas party. I am singing on the program at the Christmas party, so I really hope my voice returns in the next 7 hours.....I've been sick for SO LONG.

Not sure how to anticipate my Dad's reaction when he sees the belly. He'll be the first person in our family to know Smile

In other random news, the "7" key is not working on my computer keyboard. It won't type. I have to paste a "7" I copied from a document every time I want to type a 7.......LOL!

Sounds like a busy day. I hope your voice returns for choir tonight. I think your dad will be happy!

I am kinda being crafty and frugal... i have started couponing! I have been learning a lot about it online and by watching extreme coupoining on TLC. I made a binder and have started clipping coupons. i found a site that has a 8 week intro to couponing program that i like. Now if only i could go out and use them... but have to wait on that part

Sandra, can't wait to hear your dad's reaction. Smile I had my sister tell my mom that I'm pregnant again. She ALWAYS freaks out initially, but then is fine. I just didn't want to hear this time. My sis called me up and said she's NEVER doing my dirty work again. She thought I was over reacting, but my mom totally freak on her!!! LOL However, by the time my mom called me the next morning she was excited and happy about it. So glad I made my sister tell her, and I didn't have to hear the freak out this time. Wink

I just put my baby boy in nighttime boot camp to get him to sleep in his pack n play the whole night. Normally he's in bed nursing pretty much the whole night. Night one was TERRIBLE. He slept his usual 2 hours in the pack n play and then woke up and thought he was going to come in bed with me. Well, he spent the next 3 hours screaming with me telling him, "no, lay down and go to sleep." Night 2 was a great success though. He slept from 8:30 until 2 without waking. Then he just made a little peep. I quickly grabbed him, nursed him, put him down and he slept until 6:45! Night 3 was great as well. He slept from 8 until almost 4 in the pack n play, then made a little peep, I grabbed him, nursed him and put him down and he slept until just after 6! Yeah! So I'm happy. Great progress for just 3 days. He should be to the point of sleeping through the night in the next week or two. Smile

Kia, so what is your productiveness?!?!

Sandra- I'm excited to hear about your dad's reaction too. Smile

Laurie- sounds like sleep training is goin successfully! I've been working on the transition from crib to bed with my son for 3 months and he is really starting to get the hang of it now. He was so easy when he was a baby. But being a toddler, he is very difficult and set in his ways. My daughter was so easy to transition that this is a total change for me.

Kia- I've always wanted to learn how to coupon really well. I would love some of the savings these women get! I just use the few coupons that come in my paper. I think the most I have ever saved with coupons on an order is about $30. But usually it's about $5-$10 per order.

As for us- we have a wedding to go to tonight. I tried on my MIL dress and its still a little big in the chest area. So I put on my dresses and I'm able to still get in them! But it's just extremely noticable that I'm preggo. Looks like Everyone will find out tonight!

I'm pretty sure my Dad will think I'm absolutely insane Smile but oh well! LOL. I think he thought 2 kids was enough but he's never rude or anything about it. He'll probably be like, "WOW. Well....congratulations! That's exciting! You'll be so busy....." LOL.

Good luck to everyone who is making bedtime changes! My DS2 still has a bottle for naps and bedtime, plus usually a bottle in the night. As soon as I run out of bottle liners I will switch to sippy's for his milk, but I really need to work on getting him to nap and sleep without his milk.

My dd is still fully on bottles, she has forgotten how to use a sippy since no one but me does them and im on bed rest. gerr o well, lots to work on here.

jackie - I have a few people giving me inserts and found some good coupon sites as well. I just haven't started printing them because i cant even go shopping till im off bed rest. but i plan on trying to save as much as possible, i know it will take a while to get the big savings but anything i can do to help finances i will. plus im a SAHM so i have the time. Sandra: that is pretty much the exact reaction my dad with this one. Good luck tonight! My almost 3 1/2 year old still thinks she needs a glass of milk before nap and bedtime. Some habits are hard to break I guess.

Laurie: have fun hiking!! Sleep training always sucks but sounds like things are progressing well.

Jackie: enjoy the wedding. Sorry your secret is going to be out whether you like it or not! I don't look noticeably preggo, just like I've put on 5 lbs or so.

Kia: couponing sounds like a great way to spend bed rest time! I don't have the time or the patience to coupon. The best I do is stock up on things when they are on sale. Oh well.

So I do NOT believe in decorating for Christmas before December, but DD begged to get the tree out a few days ago and I caved. But we didn't decorate it until today or pull anything else out. My DS is such a booger right now about getting into things and he loves balls so I didn't do the bottom 3 feet. He still shakes the tree violently to get at the "balls" though! I'll try to upload a pic for you. I'm usually an obsessive tree decorator but with him I had to pass this year from my normally elaborate tree! It was nice to only take 45 minutes instead of 5 hours though! LOL Now just working on getting the kids lunch and down for naps.

Oh man, I am SO not looking forward to DS2 attacking our tree this year! What a nightmare. We probably won't put it up until December 16th so then I'll have less weeks to keep him away from it Smile I did put up my other Christmas stuff yesterday though - nativity, wall hanging, pictures, etc.

Ugh! How utterly annoying!!!! I hate that! When I was in France I couldn't find the question mark on the keyboard, so all my emails had questions, but no question marks!!!

I hate telling people any sort of news...happy or otherwise. I just hate being in the spotlight. I'd rather email them or something. I know...it's bad. Sad I'm glad to hear your sister did your dirty work. LOL!!!

YAY for fitting your own dresses! I hope you aren't too tired at the wedding tonight. I know I would be!

Last year we gave DD her own mini tree with plastic ornaments. She was allowed to touch that one...so it deflected the attention from the big one. Have you see the little felt tree on the wall? I saw it on pinterest. Smile

AFM - DD's daycare Christmas concert was last night...so she went to bed late...then she got up early. She has been a mental case today. She had a birthday part at 11 but we almost didn't go because she was just getting on my last nerve. Then we finally get her in the car and she say she has to pee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrr! Out of the car we go. Then we get to the party, 30 mins late, and she steps RIGHT in a puddle in her dress shoes. Oh, man! Anyways, we're home now...nap time is upon us and I have an appt for a hair cut in 30 mins! YAY!

We did something similar with my DD with a mini tree. Totally worked with her, but would NEVER work my with DS! He's too busy and curious. Haircut for you or K? I'm overdue for a cut and so is DD. I cut hers occasionally but really don't know what I'm doing. I can do DS's fine though, but boys are easy.

Here's my tree...I was going for a tiered look or something since I can do the bottom 1/3. LOL. Looks better lit up but I'm too lazy to redo the picture. Hopefully the bottom will look less bare once we get presents under there (although DS might rip those apart too so maybe they'll have to wait)

Gorgeous tree Ashley. I love Christmas but I'm lacking motivation on actually decorating. Blah.

The hair cut was for me. K hasn't had a cut in almost a year now...Since I decided to grow her bangs out. They started to curl so I decided we were done with bangs.

So the lady only took a couple inches off my hair. I wanted more but whatever. She's SO cheap...she didn't wash it or do anything fancy but only charged me $20. I LOVE that. I'm so not a frou-frou girl who wants to spend an hour in the salon and spend $80. Just trim it and send me on my way. LOVE it. This is the second time I've used her.

DD is napping. DH put her down when I was out. Apparently she got into a big argument with him and freaked when he said she couldn't wear PJs to nap. He ended up letting her in the end and she was happy as a clam. I hope she doesn't think she's in bed for the night. That could end poorly.

Ugh, I need to put my laptop down and get knitting. I sell custom yarn crafts and I have quite the list of things to make before Christmas. I've cut off my orders now because I need to catch up a bit. I'm currently working on 'Grinch Socks'. Red & Green striped socks. If you want to see my stuff I have a FB group called "HH Crafts". Heather those are great!! Smile

We put our tree the day after Thanksgiving. That's the tradition here. My DH does think it's too soon, but the girls were SOOOO excited, so he got out voted. The kiddos also have a mini tree in their bedroom. Today when we were out we also got a train for the tree. Here's a pic I took tonight of Little Miss Nadia running the new train. Smile

Baby boy hasn't seen the train set up yet. He was asleep when we got home. I'm guessing tomorrow morning is going to involve lots of "No!" and the poor little guy crying because he wants to "play" with the train. Oh well, he does know what no means, so thankfully it should only take a few times and he'll get the message to "not touch."

Those are cute! Have you seen the baby cowboy boot and baby converse patterns on pinterest? They are awesome! When I find out what we are having I am making some! I love making hats, because they work up quickly and I can get them done fast. I have started a yellow bobble stitch blanket for this baby, but I get frustrated with blankets because they take so much time! I need to start back on it, though.

I just found out that two other people that I know are expecting just a week or two after me, so that is exciting! I am staring to get anxious to feel the baby move. I know it won't be a lot longer until I probably will. I love that part! I am excited too because I know the kids will love being able to feel the baby move! They both insist that it is a boy.

All you crafty ladies put me to shame. Smile

So yesterday we told our kids Biggrin I was walking around tidying up and DH was sitting on the couch with the kids reading them some books. He said, "Why do you think Mommy's tummy is getting big? Does it look big or small?" They said, "It looks big!" My 5 year old DD said promptly, 'Maybe there is another baby in there?!?!" So we told her that there was. She was pretty excited. She really wants it to be a girl because "We don't have a girl baby, and we already have a boy baby." DS1 didn't believe that there was a baby in there LOL. He kept saying "My tummy is small. Yours is big." Now we just have to hope that DD kind of forgets about it in the next few weeks because she is spending a week with my IL's BEFORE we are telling them, and we don't want her to spill the beans. I don't think she will - she isn't really a "talker" like that.

Then, my Dad came Smile We hugged when he got here and he said "You look good!" I saw him do a small glance to the belly but he never said anything. We spent the night at a church Christmas party and didn't even tell him til we got home LOL. He was surprised and I think a bit shocked but I think he was pretty happy. He agreed that my granny is going to FLIP OUT when she finds out (his mom), so we told him maybe she will take comfort in the fact that this is our LAST one! He agreed not to say anything to them or anyone, so it's up to me to either call my granny or just wait and send her the photobook at Christmas with the announcement.

Anyways, it was a good day Smile A few people at church asked me as well, so the word is getting out. Just 2 more weeks before we see the IL's and tell them! Then just my mom, stepdad, and sisters will be left.

Glad to hear that your dad took the news well, and that your kids (at least your dd) are excited.

My dad just found out (I had my sister do the dirty work again). To say that he was less then thrilled would be an understatement!! Sad I haven't talked to him yet (just my sister), and I am NOT looking forward to it. Let's just say that he is totally put out that my husband and I, with a rock solid marriage and kids who love and adore each other, have somehow ruined the world by adding another child to their family. A child who will likely grow up to be a responsible, productive member of society. Yes, get upset with us!! Don't bother getting up set with the woman who has 6 children with 6 different dads, isn't in a committed relationship with any man, and is addicted to drugs! Oh, yes, I'm sure that's upsetting too, but why take it out on us! Oh, and then he said (to my sister) that we would never be able to afford our kids if it wasn't for the tax code (because quite honestly, we don't really pay taxes due to our family size in relation to our income). Yes, that's probably true. We probably couldn't. But guess what? It was the American people who voted the current tax system into place. And trust me, we didn't think, "gee, we should have another child, so we never have to pay taxes!! The amount we save in taxes will totally cover the cost of raising this child from birth until age 18!!!!!!!" Insanity!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I'm just a little disappointed... Sad

Laurie im so sorry your dad is taking it that way. I hope he comes around.

Sandra im surprised your dad didn't figure it out! Im glad your DD is excited about having another baby. My DD is supper excited (tho she may not quite understand.) When i ask her "Wheres your baby" she looks at my belly. She gives the belly kisses and blows kisses to the pics of the baby. Shes too cute.

Pollo_la, as i am sitting down/laying down all the time i already feel the flutters, as if the baby is hitting the walls of the uterus. Im so happy your kids are excited and hopefully they can feel the baby move soon.

I envy those that can knit. all i do is crochet so its very slow! I also make mobiles, Sew, make jewelry, and pretty much anything crafty.

Laurie: so sorry your dad feels that way. It is what it is and it's done so just be supportive or at least keep your mouth shut. *hugs*

Kia: I wish I could knit too but don't have the time to learn (or to do anything for that matter). I can crochet a square...does that count? hahaha I do sew but nothing too exciting...blankets and such.

Sandra: so funny that you had to tell your dad. Sorry his mom will be less than excited. Some people just need to let others handle their own business and not feel like they are the authority on everything KWIM? My mom wasn't exactly excited about us having another baby, but she sort of feels like it's our deal, not hers so whatever makes us happy. Anyway, glad word is getting out Smile

Leah: that's so fun! I have FOUR FB friends who have announced pregnancies in the last month and two close friends are TTC. Love years where there's a lot of babies Smile

Boring day here. The wind is blowing so hard that it almost knocked me off my feet when I went outside. We have very heavy patio furniture and one of our chairs got blown to the other side of our yard! I won't be surprised to see lots of blown over trees tomorrow. We are babysitting my 4-year-old niece today so I let my 3-year-old blow off her nap so they can play and that is proving to be a bad idea! My niece likes to boss my DD around and when she's tired it makes her cry  Thinking of baking some cookies to occupy them for a bit.

Laurie: I can't believe all your dad is thinking...actually more like what he is SAYING. Keep your opinions to yourself! Grrrrr! My dad has been a bachelor for over 30 years and is VERY opinionated. Ok, I think he was like that before. Anyways, he pretty much thinks anything that doesn't jive with his beliefs is wrong and will tell anyone anytime what he thinks. He and my brother don't talk because if that...but me, I just tell him to keep his opinions to himself. I'm not telling him how to live his life and he shouldn't be telling me how to live mine! Grrrrr! I would probably tear a strip off my dad if he said the stuff your dad said!

Oh man. I hate it when people are rude, especially family. It makes me crazy when people object to healthy people with loving marriages and family having more kids. Totally not even their position to judge, since they seem to be the pessimistic ones.
