    Default Weight gain

How is everyone doing in the weight gain department?

I weighted myself today and I'm only up 1 lb in the last 5 weeks. I'm SUPER happy about that because my diet has been utter garbage recently. I don't mind gaining weight, but I just don't want to gain as much as I did when I was pg with DD. See, I recently worked hard to lose 25lbs and was on this restrictive diet that cut out a lot of carbs and sugars. I was worried that adding them back would mean a huge gain.

My pre-preg weight this time is about 12 lbs lighter than I was with DD. I'm starting at 153 lbs this time and hoping to stay under 200 lbs. Last time I did not. I was huge and it was way more work to lose it afterwards.

At 10 weeks pg with DD I was up 4 lbs. Today is 9 weeks and I'm only up 1. That's good...but I'm more of a late gainer...when the Big Mac cravings kick in. Oh man, DH still doesn't know how many Big Macs I ate last pregnancy! I work at home with him now though so I might have a wee bit more accountability this time. :P

LOL, ugh! I think I'm up about 3-4 pounds, not sure. We don't have a scale. I've been beyond hungry and eating a lot of processed garbage. I always gain a good 12-15 pounds in the first trimester though. I'm naturally fairly skinny (5'10" and a size 4-6), and I think my body just likes to make sure there is some cushion in place for baby to nestle in. It will be nice to get to the second tri. My appetite becomes much more "normal" and I'll actually feel like cooking decent meals again.

i'm up 5 lbs. ugh! I think that's pretty normal though so I wont worry about it. I started out 10lbs less then with DS2 so I'm happy about that. With DS1 I gained 45 lbs! So it can't be any worse! haha

SHUSH you! I'm 5'8" and I always tell myself there is no way I could be a size 4-6 because I'd look like I was a victim of a war camp or something. LOL. You're shattering my illusions here! :P I think I was a 10-12 before I got pg but I was pretty high before I lost the 25 lbs. I was running out of clothes to wear and didn't want to buy more.

I'm pretty sure there is something to that whole 'cushion in place' thing. The body does seem to know what it needs to make a baby cozy! Last time I really noticed the gain in of fat stores in my hips and thighs...which is where I REALLY don't need more fat. Ba ha ha!

That's not bad though! 5lbs is to be expected. I guess if we were sicker, we'd have gained less. :P

I'm pretty sure I gained over 45 lbs with DD. When I hit 200 lbs I got a bit sad and shut down all memories of it. LOL. I do know, however, that it was quite a few weeks before delivery when I hit 200. Ugh!

At last apponitment I was up two pounds. I haven't been weighing myself at home, I just wait until I go to the doctor.

I'm pretty sure I'm down 3. I was staying constant for the first few weeks, then I stopped working out, and lost a few pounds. This is quite typical of me - I lose weight when I STOP working out. LOL! But it's probably fluid loss that's held in the muscles when you're using them. I only got back to pre-pgn weight at 20 weeks last time, so I'm doing much better this time I think as far as not losing too much.

I have no idea. I don't own a scale, but I've gained 35 lbs with each kid and it has been 9 months on and 9 months off. And for reasons I don't understand even as sick as I get the first trimester, I still usually manage to gain weight. I consider this entirely unfair.

I feel like I have, but I don't think that I have. I actually feel clothes getting tighter already.

I'm hoping to gain very little until the end because I am 214 and 5'9" and I HATE being overweight. I've lost 20 lbs in the past year and am just eating sensibly and should be able to maintain through the first trimester. After DS I was diagnosed with thryoid issues and insulin resistance and monitoring those levels has actually helped me lose weight normally. (Before I would practically starve myself to lose weight)

With DS I weighed about the same and only gained about 15-20 lbs, but I had him at 5 weeks early so I didn't have the last month per week gain either.

I'm up about 2 so far. I'm a very small girl (5'3 and 112 lbs pre-pg) so a few pounds looks like a lot more on me! I definitely look like I've put on a little weight. I'd love to have some of this height you girls have!
