What's worse than Halloween on a Wednesday??

I honestly didn't think anything could be worse than being off Mon, and Tues then a schedule change on Wednesday (we were supposed to be half day, but they made it a 2 hr delay and then tomorrow is our half day) followed by trick or treating....... BUT IT CAN be worse.....and it was! We got to work this morning and there was no power. We then had kids on sugar rush/crash and no lights. and were expected to teach! I love that our superintendent said in his call to parents that "teachers are well prepared to teach as normal in the naturally lit areas of the building" 1. teachers were NOT prepared to do this... 2... there was nothing NORMAL about today... and 3... my grade had to relocated bc we have no "naturally lit areas"...

The day before we had a woodpecker going nutso in our school 10 mins before kids came in....

Tomorrow is our Halloween parade (into the town from the school) and then Halloween parties. SO not looking forward to this. Bets on what's going to be our crazy point tomorrow???? sorry for the vent!

Ugh! Sounds utterly exhausting just reading it. You poor thing. I'm in a blah mood over here too...I've had a sore throat all day...so I get how you're feeling. Life can be so blah sometimes!

and since I got rid of the sinus crud I now have a hacking cough everytime I take a deep breath..... so basically anytime I breath and my throat is sore and voice going again after just getting my voice back (almost completely) These kids are going to kill me!

I'm so sorry Patience! The schools around here close when there is no power. Our Superintendents feel it's not safe to stay open without power. Your Superintendent is an IDIOT!

Yeah it's not so much the power thing itself but the crazy kids. I can totally picture it. When I was teaching in Texas it snowed (like 1/4 of an inch). Kids were so excited to see snow it ruined the rest of the week.

There is no way I could be a teacher! I would be going crazy on a normal day!

Wow! I'm so sorry Patience. That sounds draining. I think they had that issue at my kids school and I think they had a time limit for it to come back on.
