When do they usually do a first visit?

Yeah I gave one vial of blood the first time, just for qualitative test. The second one I gave multiple vials (I didn't look!) to test for a quantitive count and all the other things they test for.

I just had my first appointment today. When I called to get into the practice at ~5 weeks, they told me they don't do the first visit until 10 weeks. Last time I didn't go until almost 12 weeks. And I never went in for any "confirmation". It seems like a lot do 6-8 weeks from the prev. posts. But if you're not doing an u/s, then it's really not that important to get in so fast. I even asked my midwife today if she would be ok with me going longer than the "recommended stretches" between visits.
