Yay! Doppler

I JUST heard the babies heartbeat! I got the doppler yesterday and tried a couple of times with no luck. i just tried because I had more time and found it! a good strong 166! It is such a relieve seeing as im still on bed rest and high risk.

Now i am in compression stockings because my calf's were really sore and found a lump in one. Had to have an ultrasound on my legs done on Monday and there were no blood clots in the veins. There is one in my right calf muscle (a hematoma). Now i wear these things 24/7 up to my thigh (actually right in my groin). They are surprisingly comfortable but were expensive and are hard to get on. But if it means im healthier ill do it.

Cant wait to find the babys heartbeat again when i have time! SOOOOOO happy!

YAY for the doppler and finding the baby's heartbeat! Isn't it great to hold that power in your hands?

Sorry to hear about the leg problems. Is that related to bed rest?

:woohoo: So glad you found the Heartbeat!! :-) Sorry to hear you have to wear the compression stockings, but yeah, I guess being immobile isn't good for the circulation is it?!?! Are they at all concerned about the clot in your muscle, or is there not really a danger if it's only in the muscle?

That's awesome, it's such a great feeling once you finally find it and hear it. Put you at such ease. I had one with my first and wanted to get another but my DH said I stressed myself out in the beginning and dont want me to repeat that behavior. I still might though cause I love listening every day. So much fun:)

Yay for the Doppler! I love mine and its so nice to hear that heartbeat!!

Unfortunately it is.

Laurie- being immobile is very bad for circulation i found out. They aren't worried about the clot in the muscle and said the stockings should help that break up and go away even.

Again yay for the heartbeat. The little one was even fighting the probe lol, kept moving then when i found it again running into it.

Ugh sorry that you have to deal with compression stocking but glad they are helping.

The problem with a blood clot is that it can restrict blood flow to the muscle causing the muscle to die, or it can travel up to other parts of your body and actually kill you if it lodges in the wrong place.

Glad you got to hear the heartbeat!

Boo about the stocking but at least they are comfy. I heard a nurse in the Preop talking to a patient about them one time, something about using a plastic bag somehow to get the on easier. A video on youtube suggests using rubber gloves (for traction I imagine).

Hey sis, i didnt know that....

Mary, I have the gloves and finally found a way to make it easier! its still some work and i cant imagine doing it when i get bigger, but i made it easier.
