Your Abs

Is anyone doing anything to shrink those abdominal muscles back down? I'd sure love to be able to do up some of my pre-preg fat clothes. LOL

No suggestions but I'm right with you!
I'm below per pregnancy weight but am still lumpy an swollen so nothing regular really fits Sad

Needs to start soon because I can't wear maternity to work in 5 weeks

Also bellow pre-pregnancy. Have been since I got home. The "joy" of puking the entire pregnancy! But my belly is all weird. Can't wait to hit the gym. Going to need a lot of cardio and weight training to get things under control. And I can't go to the gym until Oliver is six weeks old... Sigh.

I'm going to the gym.. .and have a long ways to go. And it's frustrating since with DD it all fell off SO fast. And my brother's wedding in a month, and I don't know what the heck I'm going to wear.

Abs are actually almost back together (just a little hole at the belly button area). But I think everything else is still in a funny spot, and I still have that weird belly thing going on.

I HATED dress shopping for my twin brother's wedding... which was exactly 2 weeks and 1 day after baby was born..... found a nice dress at boscovs and wore an extremely tight garter under it.......

I am currently still looking preg... (we went to the beach and I had to wear my maternity bathing suit and it mad me look REAL preg.0 and there is no such thing as abs over this way!

No suggestions...I don't even know where to start but need to do something. I still have about 12 lbs to loose to get to prepregnancy but also need to go about 20 lbs below that. Of course, weight loss is one thing but also need some serious work to get any structure back to my tummy area.

I was doing good weight wise until I decided that snacking on mass amounts of walnuts was a good idea...several pounds later...my shorts are tight. I figure I'll give myself a while...a year Wink to worry about it.

I've taken a full pronged approach. Cut out chocolate (I was eating a lot) and other sugar (other than fruit). Started going to sleep earlier (if you're not sleeping enough it's harder to lose weight). Drinking 12 glasses of water a day to help be hydrated. And going to the gym in the mornings. I weighed myself today, and finally the scale is moving in the right direction since I started all of that together a week ago.

I've been trying to cut out sugary beverages...Sticking to water and coffee. I'm not THAT great at it though.

Hubby and I have talked about needing to re-vamp our diet to what it was pre-pregnancy. We got out of the habit of eating healthy. We just need to stop buying garbage!

I have no advice for you. I have had 3 babies in 4.5 years so my abs are a mess! I have 7 lbs left to loose and I can fit in pre pregnancy clothes but I still look pregnant and some one asked me last week when I was due. Ugggg! I started doing cardio at the gym already for the past 2 weeks and only got cleared to start abs today. So I will start tomorrow. Hopefully I will have positive results soon!

I have a Denise Austin Fit and Firm Pregnancy DVD. It has a short (maybe 10 minute) post partum ab workout. I always like to start out doing that because it is short and it gives me a good starting point. I don't have tons of time to workout, but I like to do what I can!

Abs...what are those? Wink

I just started doing CrossFit to try to help my abs among other things, but up until now I've just been trying to flex them on and off a few times a day (it helps pull in some of the slack from being so stretched out) and I've been running which does slowly help too. But yeah, my abs are WEAK to say the least which I'm not very fond of so I'm working on it but it's a very long process. If you overdo abs, you can actually do more damage than good so work into them slowly and listen to your body!

Ashley I do crossfit too. Today I told him that I need to start early to finish the workout since I was exceptionally slow at all the movements. Like running - I feel like I can barely jog everything in the hips is out of place. And box jumps with all the extra weight and boobs practically smacking my face Smile

If I pull the fat and tons of excess skin out of the way I can feel my abs back there. ROFL I went through my clothes tonight to see if I had anything that WASNT maternity I could wear (besides the $5 tshirts I bought on Kohls clearance...) and no luck. I can get my jeans on from post DS1 but can't button... or hte ones I CAN button are so tight it squishes the extra whatever up and hurts Sad I really wish I could wear non maternity pants... since my huge low belly stretched them out and they wont stay up but the jeans wont go on and I refuse to buy pants 10 sizes larger than I was prior to preg.

I have to wear 2 sports bras to run or do crossfit. As far as the lower half, I feel ya! It's frustrating how weak and just loose our cores get but oh well totally worth it!

Patience: if it makes you feel any better, I'm not even close to my regular pants. 2-3 full sizes bigger unless I want major muffin top. The pants I was wearing when I got pregnant wont even come up my thunder thighs right now :doh:

No abs since I was 18, but started my physical therapy and they have me planking a total of a min ( however many reps it takes to get there total) in my sides too. Among other things

I have 10more lbs to loose until I get to pre-pregnancy but them I would like to loose 20 more. And I need to do some serious toning! I don't have any kind of abs Sad
