I need some input. I have the chance to go to Disney with my girlfriend who has a son who is 3 weeks younger than Joey. It would be affordable and the timing is right.
My sticking point is that we are going thru IVF right now and if it works I would be at the end of my 1st trimester. I figured out I would be about 11 weeks gestation. Am I being silly at even entertaining the idea? I know there are rides I won't be able to go on and I will have to schedule a few more breaks.
hmmmm, difficult decision. Im guessing you won't be able to go on any rides at all but I might be wrong. If you plan things other than rides (character breakfasts etc.) it might be fun, just not sure how exhausted you'll be walking around all day?? good luck with your decision!!
Ohhhh... so hard.... mainly because who knows if it will be an easy or difficult pregnancy. I felt great throughout my first and would have jumped at the chance. But every one is different, right? so what if this one is hard and you've got 24/7 morning sickness?
I'd check ahead to see if they allow pg women on the easier rides. If so I'd go for it but maybe get trip cancellation insurance.
So I've done research on the rides and pretty much pregnant women can go on anything that Joey would be able to. I have to avoid the big roller coasters and Tower of Terror. But Joey wouldn't be able to go on any of that.
I like the trip insurance idea!! Thanks.
At 11 weeks you won't look pregnant or have any of the uncomfortable symptoms that come later.
Did you have morning sickness the first time? What experiences did your mother have with her pregnancies?
Personally, I tend to feel great at 11 weeks pregnant and wouldn't hesitate to plan a vacation.
If you think you might have some issues, I would recommend having an extra adult along to help with the kids.
i've been to disney twice while pregnant and my son has already been 5 times! go go go! you won't regret it. sure, you can't go on the rollercoasters but MOST rides you can go on! anything that doesn't have a height restriction is safe to go on - though personally i skip the safari at animal kingdom since it tends to get pretty bumpy.
i'm a disney fanatic so feel free to ask any questions about disney (i used to be a disney travel agent but now write for a disney blog).
Thank for all of your inputs ladies.
I am going to go. My mom is the only person against the idea. So I am going to do it anyway.
Lily - Can I ask what blog you write? I follow a whole bunch of them.

i think you're making the right decision in going. at 11 weeks it will be very easy. i was there in mid-sept at 30 weeks pg. it was HOT and i felt huge and gross but it was still a wonderful time. seeing everything from your kiddo's perspective makes it so worth it :)
