ENT appointment- not too exciting, but nice doctor!!
I had Moriah's initial ENT appointment on Tuesday. I really like the doctor. He is young, fresh and very good at listening (unlike the other one were seeing).
He examined her the best he could. She was SOOOOOO crabby and had woke up several times the night before so she was very uncooperative for her appointment (which really sucked) What a great first impression we made!!! :(
Doctor said that her left ear looked good and the tube was still in but the tube in right ear was coming out. Based on the information I gave him regarding Moriah's chronic respiratory infections, colds, etc, he feels that she should definitely be watched closely. He said the amount of infections/colds should be minimal this time of year and if they aren't then he will consider removing her adenoids. He said the fact that she is losing the one tube is also good timing because he would most likely put it back in and take out the adenoids during the procedure.
She also needed to be tested by the audiologist and that was a total nightmare as well!!! One ear "looked good" on all of the tests but the tests on the other ear (the one with tube coming out) were all inconclusive because she was so uncooperative by the time the audiologist started testing it.
So, part of me was hoping for more definitive answers but at the same time I understand the doctor in the fact that he doesn't want to do anything yet until he gets more baseline information on her. He seems more proactive than the former ENT we were seeing. He had me schedule another appointment in 2 months to check her ear and her overall health again.
Off topic, So, Moriah is driving me crazy with her night wake ups and early morning rising. She is healthy for now so it has to be the molars, right????
