I'm wondering if anyone looked at it and thought that it was an insane amount of food? Maria doesn't come close to eating this much food in a day, Jeena doesn't even!
I can't open it because my phone doesn't open pdfs :( but I can say that Izzie doesn't eat much anymore (she used to be a piggy!), so judging by your reaction, she doesn't eat as much as the guidelines say.
Ben comes pretty close, actually. A typical day for him is either oatmeal or cold cereal, plus a banana and a glass of milk for breakfast; a whole sandwich and lots of fruit for lunch, plus more milk; meat, starch and veggies for supper, plus lots of fruit and more milk. He usually has one snack a day too. Thing is, I don't know what Ben's doing with all that food. He's gotten heavier, MUCH heavier in the past few months, but the food doesn't seem to be fueling any significant growth in terms of height. He's still a peanut, just a very heavy peanut. He's got to be creeping up on 30 pounds.
I thought so as well but when you actually give it to them, it is not that bad! Think of snacks and all that...
I can't get Sean to eat hardly any food anymore. Today has been a "good" food day and he has had maybe 1/3 of a banana, 1/4 of an apple, 1 stick of cheese, a few bites of mac n cheese. He rejects most other food. Yesterday, I made him a plate of our food... Fish, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. He didn't touch the fish (not surprised at all, he never eats animals, lol)... Had maybe one piece of broccoli and a few bites of potatoes. All he wants is milk. We're going to switch to 2% the next time we go shopping. I'm hoping that if he's getting less calories from milk, he'll be more inclined to eat food... Please!!
Mmm, yeah... insane amount of food! Here's what A ate today:
1 spoonful of oatmeal - this was the entirety of her breakfast
1 or 2 beans from leftover chili for a mid-morning snack
maybe 1/4 of fried rice (we had Chinese for lunch... oops)
2 slices of mushroom and some chicken broth
2 large bites of homemade gluten-free cake
2 gummy vitamins
4 chocolate chips (rewards for sitting on the potty)
a tablespoon or two of red pepper hummus as a snack
I'm not entirely convinced she ate anything for dinner - she just chewed it all and spit it out -but dinner was leftovers from lunch
A before-bed snack of:
a couple tablespoons of chili (mostly beans and onions)
1/4 of a boiled egg
1/4 cup almond milk
I really think that was it today. Most days she eats more, yes, but not that much more. On a really excellent day she'd probably eat twice the amount she had today. And yet she grows....
Typical for Cam would be
breakfast: 3/4 packet of oatmeal
snacks: 5 strawberries and a yogurt/granola bar (throughout the day)
lunch: 3 chicken nuggets and 1/2 cup mixed peas&corn/ broccoli
dinner: half a slice of bread, 2 bites of chicken, 2 bites of potatoes
drinks: 2 8oz sippys of milk and a cup of water
So it sounds like he's pretty close?
I swear this is Miles...minus the veggie eating! The only thing he will really eat is breakfast (pancakes, waffles, yogurt, fruit, dry cereal), hotdogs, french fries and sometimes pb&j. We try to get him to eat anything and everything (so does the babysitter) but he will hardly eat. And now will only drink milk. I gave him a cup of juice and a cup of water (separate times) and he took a sip, said "no...MILK", then proceeded to take the cup and throw it in the sink and say "milk please"

It made me laugh because I've talked to some mamas who complain that their child won't eat meat other than chicken nuggets, and I thought "I'd be happy if mine would eat a chicken nugget..." And then he did, woohoo!
Yeah, I hate it... Sean will eat french fries. But geez, I'd rather just let him be addicted to milk than feed him nothing but french fries. They really have no nutritional value at all. Ugh. Or... He'll take one french fry and just dip it in ketchup repeatedly and only eat the ketchup. :rolleyes:
ETA: Sean just ate 3 or 4 crackers for supper. He might have eaten a few kernels of corn and a few tiny bites of carrot. Ugh...
