Long time no post
Hi ladies. It's been really, really long time since I've posted anything substantial here. I don't even know if you will remember me...... I'm still around preggo.org but usually from my phone so I don't go to many boards.
I see there has been lots and lots of new babies. Congratulations to everyone with new bubs and / or preggo with their next.
Kaia is my gorgeous, stubborn princess just as she always was. She knows what she wants and it is very hard to get her to otherwise. She is quite bright but she doesn't speak well. we had her hearing testing last week and she didn't pass two of the frequencies plus she has a blockage in one ear. They are going to retest her in 6 months when they can test the two ears individually. That way they will know if there is a problem with one or both ears, or if the issues this time were just due to distraction and / or illness. I'm not stressed about it. She's bright and funny and , in the scheme of things, there are worse hurdles to face than hearing difficulties. I do wish they could help her quicker if she needs it though. She does try to talk but she can only say parts of words (e.g. "bu" for button, bug, butt, etc, poo for spoon, pool, etc, lo for hello.). The only words she can say that others could understand are Mama, Mum, baby, no, me, bye, ta, peeez (for please) and wee. She does try to count and recite the alphabet, but a stranger wouldn't understand what she was doing. (e.g. A, do, tee, fo, fi, ick, ev, ay, ni,te for counting and the alphabet is better but only because they are single sounds anyway).
She is still a little monkey. She climbs anything and everything. Loves her games, books, swimming, bikes, scooters, etc.
How is everyone else and their little ones? I had a look over some of the posts and it seems like everyone is doing well.
Keep in mind that, at this age, anything that is a regularly-used sound to mean the same thing, qualifies as a word. So it sounds like Kaia is doing great! Probably when the hearing issues are resolved, she'll be talking up a storm in no time because she'll be able to hear how the sounds are really pronounced. :p
We're doing well. Weston will be two on Friday, I think he's the last of our Sparklers to have a birthday. He's also such a monkey, talking up a storm, and trying to do everything Tiven does. Thanks for checking in, hope you can pop back in once in a while!
Yes, I remember you. Glad to hear from you. Even though she may have some hearing issues, she is speaking more than Jax is. He has gotten a lot more words in his vocab in the past month, but still not even close to what you are describing, even if you are the only person that understands.
Yes, I have a monkey too...it is so different than when Jera was this age. He is into everything, last night, I came around the corner to find him STANDING in the bathroom sink. He has no fear!
Stop by more often, or better yet, if you FB then you should join the group.
I also remember you! welcome back!
Aren't monkey children fun!? Ethan is a jumper - tonight he jumped face first from our bed onto the floor, he threw a pillow down first, but reallly?!! crazy children!
I'm sorry to hear about the hearing issues, but it sounds like she's doing really well in spite of the hearing. What games does she like to play?
Thanks ladies! Glad I'm not the only one with a monkey child :) She is so different from my first. He was very laid back and easy going - still is most of the time!
Mel, she's a real girly-girl. She likes to play with her dolls and babies. She also likes playing board games (she tries anyway), riding her bike and scooter and dancing.
I am on FB - more than here anyway!
