Thread: Need more T & P's than I thought I would... (OT)

Saw the doctor again this morning to get the "official" results of my CT Scan. He didn't have the greatest of news for me. I apparently have a complete blockage of soft tissue in the ear canal of my right ear. There is an infection in the air cells of my mastoid bone (bone behind the ear), and in order to remove the infection, they have to remove the infected part of the bone. He said it's a pretty major surgery, so that in itself freaks me out.
I really don't know the extent of the damage yet, but will find out more on Tuesday. They took a tissue sample from my ear this morning and sent it off to the lab to rule out cancer. So now we wait...
Everyone is being so nice and telling me to think positively...but it's so hard when there is blood coming out of my ear...it sucks!

So I guess I can use some random thoughts and prayers...I'm not taking this very well, my kids are worried because I'm worried, and my mind can't keep from wandering into a place where it really shouldn't be.

When is your surgery? Will it effect your hearing?
