no more rocking :(
For the longest time our bedtime routine including reading books and rocking in our glider while singing songs. But, for about a week now, Moriah no longer wants to rock. After books, she points to her bed and said, "now I go bed!" This makes me sooooooo sad! Why is she doing this?? Does your LO request bedtime?
DS has been like this for the longest time! At 7 months he decided rocking was out the window. He wouldn't fall asleep even if we rocked him for 90+ minutes, and then eventually he got to the point before even a year old that if we were rocking him in the glider he just squirmed down to the floor after only a minute.
That's when we started putting him in bed completely awake and just leaving him in there. When he's tired he asks us for bed a lot. For the past year our routine has been teeth, a book or two, then he gets tucked in and we walk out and he puts himself to sleep. He was our independent boy from the get go.
I'm sorry your rocking is ending! It's so hard when they give up our special connections in exchange for independence. :(
I fell bad for the Mom's! I love that time of day and will never let DH do it!
I know...it makes me so sad. :( She is definitely wanting to be more independent, too.
Erin- I cannot believe you are over 23 weeks now!!! :)
I actually thought I was 23 weeks last week - stupid mom moment

Maria has done this a few times. I'll be nursing her to sleep and she'll ask to go on my shoulder and for me to sing. Then she'll ask to go upstairs. So we'll go to bed and she'll fall asleep on her own! I have to admit that I kinda like it though.. haha!
