Teeth (again!)

How many teeth do your LOs have?

Maria is stuck at 12. She has her top and bottom set of four and her four molars and a 'nice' little space between the 4 and the molars, waiting for the eye teeth to come in. There is NO sign of those teeth coming in! Any idea when they're supposed to be making their appearance?

I have no idea when those are supposed to come in, but I know quite a few kids who have those come in last, and usually quite a bit behind the first ones. Katie just started popping second molars, and it's been a while since her last bout of teething. I had forgotten just how awful it was.

Delia, after several months (or at least 6-8 weeks) of her gnawing on everything where her eye teeth are, she finally cut her 2 top ones. They took forever, and they really bothered her. I mean, seriously bothered her. It took so long, and they're barely through the gum. You can see the tip of them but nothing else. She constantly presses on her face above her top eye teeth and whines so I suspect it hurts up higher. I hate HATE eye teeth. I would say it's been maybe 2 weeks since she got them? So it hasn't been long. She has no sign of the bottom ones yet.

Lately she's chewing on her fingers toward the back of her mouth, but so far I can't see any sign of molars, but I suspect they're next.

When your child has a hard time teething, it's the worst. Teething has been a nightmare for us.

Josie has 14 properly through. The eye teeth have been the most painful I think becaue it's been so slow. I think she first started teething the eye teeth about 4 months ago. The bottom 2 took a few months to break through properly and they're only about 1/4 of the way up now. She's just started to slightly cut the top left one, the top right one has had a little white dot there for ages but nothing is happening!

Laney's got all her teeth except her 2nd yr molars, and I am dreading those. She's a horrible teether as well. She usually teethes 3-4 teeth at a time, and they take weeks, and Advil barely helps the pain. Lots of screaming, waking at night, fussy. No sign of them yet. But so far the eye teeth were the worst!

Those stupid eye teeth. Claire's went up and down for what seemed like months until they finally popped through. Ben just cut his top eye teeth a couple weeks ago, so we're at 14 teeth, and those 2 teeth really gave him a hard time. He was chewing on everything.

Hayleigh just cut 13 and 14 last weekend, it was a nightmare. The bottom eye teeth are white so I know they are coming but the top ones were white for at least a couple of weeks.

She is absolutely unbareable right now. I can't stand the whining! It is sure a good thing I work and DH stays home, I would probably be back on antidepressants!

Thank you for writing this. I was starting to think I was a bad person for not dealing so well with the whining, and that there was something really wrong with Zoey for whining so much. OMG all my child does is whine.

Thank you for writing what you wrote! I was worried about poeple's reactions to that statement. I am the first to admit that I am not meant to ne a stay at home Mom. As much as I love my Daughter, I don't like dealing with it. I constantly have this internal struggle between giving in to the whining or tough love. It affects every aspect of my life. I still have a headache from the bout this morning! Thank April!

Sorry if I hyjacked the thread Delia - I have had a tough day already

oh em gee, you are so not alone. Usually I'm pretty good at handling the whining, at least externally. The worst is when both of them get going with the whining, which doesn't happen often. About a month ago, when I'm trying to get them bundled up and out the door at 7:00 am, DD started with the 'I CAN'T DO IT!!!!' 'MOMMY BEN TOOK MY MITTEN!' 'HE HIT ME!' and then Ben started with the 'WAH WAH WAH'. This went on for a few minutes, but then I don't know what happened. I just lost it. I put my hands over my ears and yelled "Shut up, both of you!!!" They were immediately quiet and just looked at me like "I can't believe you just yelled at us like that." I sure felt awful for losing my cool, but it was almost as if they understood why I yelled. It's not something I've done since, but I think that maybe that one time it did happen was enough for them to think to themselves "Golly, my mommy sure does do a heck of a lot for us each morning and she just works so darned hard all day long, so I'm gonna be good for her when she's trying to get me ready to go." Yeah.....right.....

Victoria has 16 teeth, but luckily none of them really seemed to bother her too much when she cut them. I think she is cutting her second molars because she keeps shoving her fingers way back in her mouth, and she has a mark on her chin from drooling.

It must be so tough when you have a constantly miserable toddler due to teething! I feel for those of you that have to put up with that :bigarmhug:
