Thanks Delia!

For all the support Friday night with moving Hayleigh into the Toddler bed over Facebook.

She cried for an hour and then settled for the night when I went in to sit beside her (something we DO NOT do in our house).

The next day however, the poor thing cried for over an hour for her nap even with DH sitting in the room with her.

We did a bit of research through the same lady we took the CIO class from and she had some great suggestions for us. We have decided to keep Hayleigh in the crib until she is ready. to overcome the climbing out of the crib, we bought a crib tent. Which just fits over the top of the crib. Hayleigh seems to love it and has slept in the past 2 mornings!

Again Delia, Thanks for your support in Friday night!!!

Do you have the toddler bed in her room now along with the crib? That's my plan when the time comes, though I know we're not ready yet so it will be a while. I plan to keep the toddler bed in the room and just encourage her to get used to it and sit on it, play on it, lay on it and so forth. After talking it up for a while I'll try to get her to sleep in it. I don't know if it will work, but in theory that's what we plan to do.

She'll be ready eventually. We all transitioned at some point. Smile

You're more than welcome Erin!!! I've been where you are before so I wanted to try to help out!! Smile

The tent idea sounds good!! Maybe transitioning to a bed is like potty training, when they're ready, they are superstars. If we catch them at a time when they are not ready, they'll let us know!!! Biggrin

The nursery (her current bedroom) is too small at this point for both a crib and a bed. We will probably move her into a bigger room before the baby comes but keep her in a crib. At that point we will set up the bed and let her play on it.

What was so funny was that she was crazy excited when we showed her the new bed (before she actaully had to go to bed). she also loved playing on it when she woke up. She even asked about it on Sunday after she slept in her crib. Crazy kid!

This is how Zoey is about the potty. She loves to play with it but won't sit on it unless she's fully clothed, and even then it's sporadic. So I just go with what makes her happy, knowing she's just not ready to really use it. I try to keep it light and fun so she doesn't get some scared aversion toward it.

I dread the toddler bed though. She sleeps so poorly, she will never stay in bed. Ugh.

I'm glad you found something that works for now, and it sounds like you have a good plan moving forward!
