Time for a big girl bed!

DH caught Hayleigh trying to climb out of her crib for her nap today. Looks like we are moving her this weekend! I was hoping to put it off for a few months...

Good luck with the transition!!

Jeena climbed out of her crib during a nap (made the loudest scariest noise ever!) and right then I took her crib apart and put her crib mattress on the floor until we could figure out a bed for her. She went to bed great that night and the next morning she was sleeping on the mattress on the floor, calling for us to come get her. Even though she could get out herself, she seemed to think she couldn't! It was quite funny! Smile

Miles hasn't tried getting out yet, but I think we are changing his crib to a toddler bed this weekend too!

This is exactly what we are going to do tonight but for some reason I am terrified! Should I take her bookshelf and changing table out?

If she's a climber, etc. you might want to take them out. We left everything in for Jeena, she even had all her toys in her room and not once got out of bed to play with them. For some reason, she just knew to stay in bed.

Could you start the transition with a nap so you'll kind of see how it goes?

As you're taking down the crib and setting up the bed, over talk it!!! "Hayleigh look at your big girl bed, isn't it amazing, this is YOUR bed, it's so pretty, etc." Over exaggerate it all to get her excited!!!

That fact that she was trying to climb out of her crib shocked us because she has never been a climber.

We have a video moniter so I can always see her which is a benefit.

Good advice on making a big deal of her big girl bed - the crib mattress on the floor Smile I am just in the process of having her big girl bedding made. I didn't think I would need it so soon...
