Renee’s March Space

Hi, I'm Renee. I have been married to my husband since October 12, 2002 and we have one daughter who is 7. We live on the Florida Gulf Coast and are *thrilled* that we are expecting Baby #2. I am 44 years old so the odds of me conceiving naturally with my own eggs was 2%. It's like winning the lottery!

BFPs:

Due Date:

Based on LMP 03/05/11 however first u/s pegged me at 03/06/11. I will be a scheduled C-Section so we are angling for Tuesday 03/01/11 unless Baby has other ideas.
C-Section scheduled for March 1st at 7:30 AM unless Cole decides to be a February baby

My OBGyn:

Appointments:

1) First OBGyn Appt: July 21st @ 2:00 PM - 7w4d - Saw and heard heartbeat at 140bpm!! Smile
2) Second OBGyn Appt: August 19th @ 3:45 PM - 11w5d- Doc was able to get the heartbeat via doppler after searching for the longest 30 seconds. 161 bpm!! Yahoo
3) Third OBGyn Appt: September 16th @ 10:00 AM - 15w5d - Baby's heartbeat was strong in the 150s! Smile
4) Level II U/S and Amnio Appt: October 5th - 18w3d - The u/s tech gave us an ALL CLEAR so we nixed the amnio. We are having a healthy baby boy!!!! :yahoo:
5) Fourth OBGyn Appt: October 14th @ 10:00 AM - 19w5d - Halfway baked appointment!!! No problem finding Cole's heartbeat these days. Everyone is on track - no concerns 'boring' OB appointment.
6) Fifth OBGyn Appt: November 11th @ 10:00 AM - 23w5d - This is my viability appointment! No concerns and Cole's heartbeat remains strong in the high 150s/low 160s. I am now measuring 3 weeks ahead! Yikes! Big baby coming...
7) Sixth OBGyn Appt: December 8th @ 4:00 PM - 27w4d - FANTASTIC! Marginal placenta previa gone; Cole is doing great: 148 BPM and measuring 1 week ahead at 2 lbs 11 oz. C-Section tentatively scheduled for March 1 unless he decides to come early.
Eight) Seventh OBGyn Appt: December 22nd @ 1:45 PM - Appointments every other week now. Passed my gestational diabetes test Yahoo and am not anemic! Good blood pressure, Cole's HB is strong but he likes the transverse position in utero. Sad
9) Eighth OBGyn Appt: January 6th @ 11:15 AM - Great 'boring' appointment. Cole's HB at 145, my BP 100/70, no weight gain over Christmas - up 24 pounds so far. Measuring 1 week ahead still.
10) Ninth OBGyn Appt: January 13th @ 10:00 AM - Our first Non Stress Test was today! It lasted about 30 minutes and we had no problems. Decent blood pressure at 110/70, no protein in urine. I got a pep talk about preterm labor signs and when to call the docs as I was sent out the door.
11) Tenth OBGyn Appt: January 20th @10:00 AM - Hrmph! They asked me to show early at 9:45 AM and I did. Then they let me sit for an hour! No communication re the delay, women coming for their appts and leaving while I am still sitting there. Turns out they double booked the NST room. Guess I am skipping this week - rebooking for next Tuesday. Sad
12) Eleventh OBGyn Appt: January 25th @10:00 AM - No worries, regular appointment. Because I am soooo AMA, I am scheduled for a late term U/S next week to check fluid levels, baby growth/size, cervix length, placenta health, etc.
13) Twelvth OBGyn Appt: February 1st @11:00 AM - Cole passed his BPP with 8 out of 8! He was asleep for most of the test. At one point I nudged him and called his name and he raised a little balled fist to his eye, rubbed it sleepily and then settled back down. So neat to to see it real time on the u/s screen. No health issues for him or me. Yahoo All systems go for a March 1 birthday, unless he wants to be a February baby. His legs are long, he's got chubby cheeks and hair; u/s tech guessed his weight already around 6 lbs 14 oz. She jokingly told me not to make a big investment in newborn or 0-3 size clothing. I can't wait to meet my big healthy boy!!
14) Thirteenth OBGyn Appt: February 9th @ 09:30 AM - All checks at appointment clean. Measuring 2 weeks ahead at 39 weeks! He is still lying transverse...it's like wearing a baby innertube around my waist! Only 2 doctor appointments left.
15) Fourteenth OBGyn Appt: February 15th @ 10:45 AM - Tricky NST as one nurse and three techs had trouble keeping the sensor on him. Besides turning back to transverse in utero (GRRR!!!) in the end all checked out well. BP and urine are clean, GBS (negative), iron and platelets are good. Have gained a total of 32 pounds so far (gained a total of 37 with DD). ONE appointment left before I am a Mom again!
16) LAST  OBGyn Appt: February 21st @ 10:45 - I got a freebie u/s to verify that he is now turned vertex! Yahoo No more worries of transverse or breech. I have firm appointment for March 1st. Just counting the last few uncomfortable days.

My name is Mary (26 at time of conception) and DH is Tom (27 at time of conception). We met in college in 2001, started dating in 2002, and got married on September 27, 2008. We were lucky enough to conceive our first child while on our honeymoon and on June 30, 2009, I gave birth to our DS Sean Thomas. We fell so deeply in love with him that we couldn't wait to start trying for more children. My DH is now a SAHD and I work full-time. I get a little jealous at times because DH gets to be with DS all the time and I feel like I miss out on so much, but I just consider us very fortunate that my job pays well enough that DH can stay home with him. We also have one dog, a Boston Terrier named Peanut, who was born November 27th, 2006.

We wanted to begin TTC in January 2010, but due to BFing (actually EPing) DS, I didn't get my first AF until mid-February. We TTC after that, but my cycles were still out of whack. That cycle lasted 6 weeks and was a BFN. We did conceive the following cycle in April, but it was not meant to be and ended with a miscarriage on May 26th, 2010. I was devastated, but not surprised. I had been bleeding off and on since two days after the BFP. After 4 betas and 2 ultrasounds, the doctor thought everything was okay, but I knew in my heart that I should not be bleeding like that. I hoped and prayed for my bean to survive, but in the end, it simply was not meant to be.

I took some time to grieve the loss of my little bean, but DH and I talked and quickly decided that we just wanted to jump back in and try again. We decided not to even wait for my AF following the m/c and just started it all over again. It was a long, frustrating cycle... I didn't ovulate until the 28th day after my m/c. But I was amazed to see a faint (but definitely there!) line on an IC HPT at 10dpo. I didn't want DH to know I had tested until we had a BOLD positive, so I made a secret trip to the store after work that day and bought a FRER. I brought it home and tested and the line was BEAUTIFUL!! So I went ahead and used a digital that I already had. I knew it was less sensitive than the FRER, so I wasn't sure if it would be positive, but after a few moments (that seemed like forever), the word "Pregnant" popped up!! I took the tests to DH who seemed unsurprised and gave all the credit to his super-sperm. Our EDD is March 15th, 2011 (later changed by u/s dating to March 16th). DH's birthday is March 7th, so it would be cool for the baby to be born on his birthday... Or on St. Patty's Day!! Biggrin

A picture of us when DS was about 2 months old:

4 Weeks

July 27th @ 9:30am
Appointment with OB Coordinator. Initial education and blood/urine tests. This turned out to be an AMAZING appointment! We were surprised when she ordered us a dating u/s because I didn't have an LMP date due to not having AF after the m/c in May. The bean had a beautiful little heartbeat of 146 beats per minute. (S)he measured one day behind my estimate (6w6d instead of 7 weeks), changing my EDD from March 15th to March 16th. Hoping for a St. Patty's Day baby!

August 25th @ 12:15pm
First OB Appointment. Nothing exciting... Still considering switching to a new practice. Did get a mini-ultrasound today at 11 weeks.

September 17th @ 3:10pm
Elective early gender scan. Ultrasound tech said it's a "definite" boy. But I'm not 100% convinced and only 14w2d, so I'll be awaiting confirmation at my big u/s at the OB's office. But tentatively, Sean might have a little brother!!

September 20th @ 9am
OB Appointment - 14w5d. Heard the heartbeat, but I've been listening to it at home for weeks. Wink

October 18th @ 8:30am
Big ultrasound! It's a BOY!! We are thrilled to have another little boy joining our family. I can't wait to watch the relationship develop between Sean and this new little boy. I hope they are the best of friends. Smile

The doctor said everything looked normal on the u/s, but I was a little nervous when the tech lingered over the baby's spine area for a little longer than she spent on any other parts. I hope they're not keeping anything from me. It could have just been that baby's angle made it difficult for her to get the right shot.

I also had blood drawn for my quad screen. Since I was there first thing Monday morning, the doc said the results should be back by the end of the week, and he would only call me if the results were abnormal. The week has since ended and I didn't receive a call, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I'll give them a few days next week too, just in case they were being slow. I really hope my results showed low risk of all those birth defects!

November 17th @ 2:30pm
23 Week Appointment.

11 Weeks

11 Weeks 5 Days

14 Weeks 2 Days - Boy??

August 11, 2010 - 9 Weeks - Heard the heartbeat on the home doppler for the first time!! Biggrin ...But also started some light bleeding. Sad Praying this little bean will stick.

September 3, 2010 - 12 Weeks 2 Days - Bleeding has become heavy and bright red with clots and tissue passing. Scared to death of another m/c.

September 6, 2010 (Labor Day) - 12 Weeks 5 Days - After a grueling weekend of heavy bleeding (thank goodness I was off work), I finally get in to see the doc. He checked my cervix which was very much closed and he couldn't spot any active bleeding. He did an ultrasound to find a bean with a heartbeat!! I am astounded that anything could have survived the bleeding that I had. It has tapered off now, and I hope it doesn't return. The doc's best guess was that I had a subchorionic hematoma that finally worked its way out. I hope he's correct.

October 24th, 2010 - 19 Weeks 4 Days - The bleeding that stopped on Labor Day has never returned, and we are so grateful for that. The last several weeks from them have really been a blur. I spent so long not bonding with this pregnancy because I was scared of losing it, and now suddenly I'm halfway to the finish line. I felt this little boy start moving inside of me at around 16 weeks, the same as with Sean. His movements are slowly starting to get stronger, despite an anterior placenta. I can't wait until I feel big rolling movements and knees/elbows/etc in my ribs and bladder. I just want this baby to thrive and be healthy!

Bri's March Space!

My name is Brianne, I'm 27 years old today (yep, 4th of July is my actual birthday!) I live in Pennsylvania with my husband Matt, two dogs, and a cat. I'm a high school history teacher. Matt and I have always wanted to adopt a child and since I was a kid that's what I envisioned for my family. We were very much committed to the lengthy process, but the recession changed our plans. We began to seriously discuss having a baby early this year. Once Matt got home from 4 months of Army training in Oklahoma I stopped BC and we started TTC. I tracked my BBT and ended up having fairly regular cycles (a first for me, thanks BC!). After a late period last week I took a test on Thursday and it was positive! I was shocked that it actually worked! We're a bit overwhelmed b/c we assumed this would be a longer process, but its very exciting.

*UPDATE*
Everything looks good according to my doc. I didn't really need an ultrasound, but he let me get one anyway!

Thursday 8/19/10 @ 8:30am

Quick appointment today. The doppler picked up the heartbeat so no need for an ultrasound. Next up is to schedule my early Down Syndrome screening.

***UPDATE***

Monday 8/30/10

NT scan went well today! Got some great pics and so far. The doctor said my EDD based on the size of the baby is now 3/1/11.

Sharing the News:
Since we're VERY early on we have only told our immediate family and a handful of my close friends. We debated whether or not to say anything this soon, but decided that we wanted the support. I think my younger sister is the most excited of everyone!

YIKES! Pics are huge. Will try to make them smaller next time.

Just got my BFP (July 4), so I thought I'd come claim my space!

I'm a momma to 2 little people already - Stella (2.5) and Sebastien (18 months). I'm a doula and a childbirth educator, so babies and birth are a big part of my life. I'm a 'natural momma', and I homebirth, breastfeed, attachment parent and cook vegetarian and vegan for myself and my kiddos. I'm married to Mark who is a pastry chef, so food is a huge part of our lives.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here!

Hi there, everyone! A little self-introduction to claim my space for March 2011: I'm a 27-year-old homemaker from the SF Bay Area. My husband and I have been married for four years now, and decided to start trying for our first baby in February. My mother's earlier dire warnings about using birth control turned out to be well-founded when we got pregnant that month, but sadly we miscarried at eleven weeks. After my d&c at the end of April we waited for a normal cycle to start trying again, and sure enough, the very next egg was just as lucky as that first one! So here I am, crossing my fingers that this little one will be ours to keep.

Our estimated due date is March 8th, 2011.

My BPF:

On July 7th, I had my first bleed, pretty scary, and so on the 8th I got squeezed in for my first prenatal visit and ultrasound. We could see a gestational sac, but nothing else, which wasn't surprising because by my lmp I was only at five weeks.

I had my betas checked - 7,000 on the 8th and 12,000 on the 10th, indicating things were still progressing. I also had a second ultrasound on the 12th, and we saw the gestational sac had grown, with a small yolk inside. Dr. M had me make an appointment for the next week, when we would hopefully see a heartbeat and be able to relax.

On July 19th, we had a heartbeat! Nice and strong, measuring small for my estimated seven weeks but everything was present and accounted for. The embryo wasn't exactly showing off for the photographer - he/she is the blob with the two x's on the right of the gestational sac.

Of course, with my pregnancy luck, we couldn't relax for long. On July 22nd I had another bleed, this time much heavier, longer, and with some heart-wrenching clots. The next morning I went in for my fourth ultrasound, and was amazed and thrilled to see the embryo still there, heart beating away. This time, Dr. M found the source of my bleeding, a large subchorionic hematoma up behind the gestational sac.

August 3rd I went in again to check up on the embryo and the hematoma. While the "lake of blood", as Dr. M colorfully described it, was still present, it seems to not be affecting the embryo. This time, he/she decided to pose for the camera, and I could see the bulbous head, tiny little limb buds, and he/she even squirmed away from the probe once! Here's that ultrasound, at lmp nine weeks:

We finally had a routine prenatal visit on August 17th. No sign of a hematoma on the ultrasound, and I hadn't had any bleeding since the 12th, so things were feeling good. We got our referral to get an NT ultrasound on September 3rd, more because we wanted a long detailed look at the fetus.

On the day, our little one started out very active, rolling around and waving at the camera. Halfway through, he/she rolled over and went straight to sleep and would not budge however much we shook my tummy about. These photos are from 13 weeks.

At 19 weeks I started to feel movement. Not a single flutter or tickle, but the occasional hard press. I figure he's stretching his arms and legs, just pushing me around from the inside.

At 20 weeks we had our anatomy survey, and confirmed that it's a boy! I was hoping for a girl, but had been slipping and constantly referring to him as a "he" for a couple of months, so I'm used to the idea of having a little boy already. It practically wouldn't be a normal doctor's visit for me if they hadn't found something out of the ordinary. He's got unusually large kidneys, which 95% of the time the fetus "grows into". If he doesn't then it's a simple surgical fix after he's born, so I'm not worrying. Mainly it means that I get to go in for yet another ultrasound in four weeks to check up on his kidneys.

These are some of our 20 week photos:

On November 23rd we went back for our follow-up appointment to check on baby's kidneys. His left kidney looked fine, but his right kidney was still enlarged. This time, his left lateral ventricle also was enlarged. We met with a genetic counselor, who was overall uninformed but concluded we were at low risk for chromosomal abnormalities. We also had a fetal echocardiogram and found his heart and circulatory system were in perfect order. So after this appointment we were left with worries of isolated ventriculomegaly, a recommendation to get a fetal MRI, and another follow-up appointment for December 22nd.

We got a few more keepsake pictures from that ultrasound, but discovered that ultrasound portraits creep us out way too much, looking a bit too much like a ghost, zombie, or Terminator with his face half melted off.

At our December follow-up we got great news. It turns out the ventriculomegaly was just an anomaly that resolved itself and Little Man's ventricles were measuring nicely in spec. I was very glad that I postponed any discussion of a fetal MRI until after our next follow-up. His kidneys were still enlarged, but only barely. Everything else looked just fine, although we were told the kid has a big head...

Masyn Roystan was born at 36wks2days on February 27th
6lbs2oz and 17inches long
I had a very tough pregnancy with him I was hospitalized at 12wks for 2 days with a severe illness, and I have not been the same since.
He is a Happy and Healthy Baby Boy. I am grateful that he did not suffer any after effects from all the treatment I received so early on.
I actually went into Labor with him, my water broke, I had back labor all day ( even though at the time I had no idea thats what it was) he was born via C-Section a few min before midnight screaming. Smile that was all the relief in the world to hear coming from your baby when they are born almost a month early!

[My name is Jodi, I'm 27 I'll be 28 Feb 12. This is my first Pregnancy and this came as a big suprise to me. I was married before and almost for 5 years, nothing happened,I went on Clomid for almost 6 months my second year of marrige and never happened and now I can count that as a blessing. . So as I took it I was infertile I told my Boyfriend this but he kept saying he knew I could get pregnant. and he was right I found out July 9, 2010. I wasn't for the first time thinking about having a baby, We started to date Sept 9,2009 and have been together since. I love him so much someday I hope to be his wife. He has two amazing kids who I love as my own. So those two would of been our only children, but things changed and Sure enough we are pregnant. I'm Due March 11,2011. We found out we are having a little girl her Name is going to be Riley or maybe Rylee still thinking of how to spell her name.

6-19-10 Still pregnant! Woo!

My husband and I have been married for 2 years on November 29, 2010. We couldn't celebrate our first anniversary because I wasn't ready to leave Cam over night; I guess this anniversary is going to be out, too, lol Biggrin
Our son Camden was born 6 weeks early on April 23, 2009 (DD June 3, 2009) after I had some spotting and preterm labor at 29 weeks. The labor ended up in a 3 weeks hospital stay. They let me go when I was 32 weeks, since the baby would be big enough to not-be-born on the way to the hospital. He waited two more weeks and then my water broke spontaneously at home (9pm) and less than 2 hours later (10:48pm) we welcomed a sweet 4lb9oz little boy.
NICU stay was 12 days, because he had a hard time nippling/feeding. No other complications, so once he "got" it he came home at 4lbs3oz. And it doing amazing now!

Cam was a complete surprised, but baby #2 was planned, just a month or so early Smile

Here's Camden at a couple months old going on a shopping trip.

DueDate: March 25th tentatively (until I go to the doctor) Doc is going with March 27th, but that's close enough that while I'll tell people the 27th, I'm going to stick with the 25th for my tickers Biggrin

Meg's Space

My name is Meg and I am 29 years old. I am married to my highschool sweetheart, Ted and we currently have one beautiful baby girl, Maggie, along with a couple dogs and a cat. I work as a nurse at the local hosptial doing Pre-Op and Recovery. We are due with our second child, thinking March 29th! I know I will go early because I need to have a repeat C-Section.

I tested positive on July 16th.

I have not had an ultrasound or seen my OB yet. My first appointment is August 27th. I do see him twice a week at work, so if I have any questions he is there.

I am sorta computer slow and don't know how to upload pix, but I will figure it out someday soon!

I am really happy to be in touch with such a great bunch of girls!
