FRER on January 3, 2010
My name is Ariel, and DH is John. We have been married since May 17, 2006.
It took us approximately 16 months, and several rounds of Clomid while TTC #1. She is Sylvia, who was born December 18, 2008.
We are a military family and just moved to Alaska from Texas on December 31, 2009. So far we LOVE it. Since marrying DH, I have wanted a big family. I am SO EXCITED for the new baby.

New midwife (CNM) home-visit, rescheduled for...
June 24, 2010 at 9:00 am:
She was fantastic!! She is a CNM who home-births and I just think that is amazing! I have found so many CNMs totally bound by their practices and don't want anything to do with home-births, let alone VBACs. In the state of NC in order to home-birth she has to have OB back-up, and she does, so that is another added plus. She is fine with me delivering at home anywhere from 36-43 weeks gestation. She wants me to call as soon as I think I am in labor though so that she can be with me for the entire time since I am a VBAC. She carries all her own meds and equipment and does her own tear repair and everything. She will come with an assistant, and she has a birth tub for me to use free of charge. I just have to buy the liner. If my membranes rupture she will let me go as long as needed unless I develop fever or there is meconium or any other risk factors. She said she is not particularly on the conservative side as far as transfers since she can normally tell from the get-go if we will make it at home or not. Obviously as long as she believes I can do it safely at home she will encourage me to stay. The only thing she is not comfortable with is if the baby is breech, but we will cross that bridge if we ever have to. She said she does know other midwives who are very comfortable with delivering breeches, so there would be options.
And are you ready for this **drumroll** she is only charging me $500 to reserve my spot and then she will bill my insurance for the rest!! Most likely I can even get the $500 back from my insurance if I file for it.
June 11-27, 2010:
DH gets block leave before deployment.
June 29, 2010 at 10:00 am: B/p 116/72, baby's h/r in the 160s, did the GD test with no symptoms (nausea, shakes, etc) this time, she thinks baby is breech at this point. I met Kate who is the midwife's apprentice, and they included Silly in everything they were doing :)
July 2, 2010: No GD (level was 73) and I am not anemic.
July 2010: DH deploys for one year :(
July 11, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 pm:
Introduction to Homebirth at Durham Chiropractic. My MW and her assistant Cher (who I am hoping to meet) will be speaking.
July 13, 2010 at 11:00 am: MW appointment in Carrboro. B/p was 114/70, h/r was 140s-150s. She is pretty sure he is head-down but posterior.
July 19, 2010:
Past, Present, Future Tarot Reading; Six of Cups, Two of Pentacles, Four of Wands. Predicting baby in four weeks?
July 28, 2010 at 11:00 am: So BP was 118/72, and baby's h/r was good. Did the GBS swab. We are pretty sure he is posterior, but he seems to do that on long car rides, so I'm not too worried. I also have a HOME-VISIT in two weeks... yay!! My mom seems to think I have dropped in the last day or so, and mentioned it to my MW. It is agreed that this may just be a mid-late August baby. Time will tell, but that is what my "mommy-instinct" is telling me too. I have a feeling my next appointment may just be my last. ONE MORE WEEK and I can stay home to have him... yiipppeee!! I have been having TONS of BH and even some real ctx intermingled in there. And I am getting that whole "pelvic bone is tearing apart" feeling lol. Measured 38 weeks.
August 9, 2010 at 11:00 am: Home-visit with Cher was wonderful. BP was 108/70. H/r was in the 140s. Measuring 37.5 weeks.
August 17, 2010 at 1:00 pm: Carrboro visit. BP was good, GBS negative, h/r in the 160s. Baby is very low in my pelvis. Measuring 41 weeks. ROA.
August 24, 2010 at 9:00 am: Home-visit... B/p 120/80, h/r 140-150s.
06/28/10: 202 (?) On the MW's scale
