Winter 2007-2008 - Started TTC/not trying but not preventing...
Hello! My name is Liss and my husband is L. This is our first pregnancy and first baby, after almost exactly 5 years of TTC. Throughout that time, God has ALWAYS, without fail, been faithful. The difficult lessons I have learned through our journey have changed my life for the good!
Our unexpected and very surprising BFP is an answer to many prayers offered by many people and we are so humbled and grateful for this gift!!!
No matter how much time this baby has with us, which Lord willing will be many years to come, I am grateful for this opportunity and will, now and always, glorify God for the growth He has brought!
I would have despaired unless I believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.
My husband and I were married on June 23, 2007! We had a wonderful wedding ceremony, surrounded by our family and so many friends. After a honeymoon to the Californian coast, we settled down to married life... this consisted of work, school and penny-pinching.
Spring 2009 - Kicking it up a notch in the TTC department!
Summer 2009 - All infertility tests = 100% normal for both of us. Diagnosed with "unexplained infertility"
Winter 2009-2010 - Ready to start the IUI process, but getting adjusted with new insurance and therefore, new doctors.
Spring & Summer 2010 - More testing with great results gave us lots of home, but two unsuccessful Clomid+IUI cycles left us drained, emotionally & financially.....
Fall 2010-Spring 2011 - Decided to move into adoption whenever we could afford to begin the process. Meanwhile, started cleaning up our diet and exploring various holistic options such as chiropractors, etc.
Summer-Fall 2011 - Started seeing awesome acupuncturist/nutritionist who helped both of us lose a lot of weight and start feeling great and excited about the possibility of TTC again! Still thinking we'd pursue the adoption route - then DH decided to make a career change and we moved several states away to begin ministry school.
Winter 2011-2012 - TTC moved to the back burner again while in school... back to not trying but not preventing.
Spring-Summer 2012 - Still considering adoption or more fertility treatments would be our best option following graduation... still not trying but not preventing, though trying to be a little more careful in order not to mess up Summer 2013 overseas mission plans.
Fall 2012 - This was the crucial time when we had to make sure we did not TTC, or a summer mission trip would definitely be out of the picture. Afer a month filled with stress over school, depression over a friend's unexpected death, anxiety concerning our midterms and a healthy diet that went down the drain, it happened. We found ourselves looking at a BFP just two days before Thanksgiving.
November 30, 2012 - Had our first meeting with the midwife. Toured the birth center and had a lot of questions answered
Obviously, my HPT habit kicked in full-force... and I had to test the OPK-as-HPT trick, too... (it worked, btw!)
...appointments & ultrasounds...
January 16, 2013 - 12 weeks - First official appointment. Midwife says due date, according to LMP is July 31, 2013...but I know when I ovulated, therefore I'm still sticking with EDD August 1, 2013. Heard the heartbeat and started crying immediately!! So overwhelmed and relieved that our baby is alive and well in there!
February 2013 - 16 weeks - Starting to feel some little flutters (I can usually feel when I ovulate... too many months of obsessing and being super in tune with my girly organs haha!).
Heard the heartbeat again and again so relieved. Midwife says uterus is just the right size.
March 28, 2013 - 22 weeks - Measuring perfectly again, whew! Midwife put me on calcium supplements and told me to go easy on the dairy for a while because of pain in calves.
April 24, 2013 - 26 weeks - Got to see little snippets of baby on an old school ultrasound machine - saw the little spine and legs/toes at one point which was really cool!!! Perfectly measuring 26 weeks... can't wait for our big ultrasound in 3 weeks!
May 15, 2013 - 3D ultrasound - got rescheduled and pushed back til May!!! But coming up soon..

Hello ladies!AF was due on Sunday so I took a Dollar Store test today for the heck of it and I couldn't believe it when I saw a faint line. Just to make sure I took a FRER because I heard they are the best and I got a nice dark line! I posted them in the 2WW post. I was a part of the Jan/Feb 08 ladies and I still talk with them today and also was a part of the Sep 09 ladies so now I am going to be a part of the Aug 13 ladies! All my kiddos were conceived when we least expected to get pregnant
Ok I guess I should introduce myself! My name is Kelly (33), DH is John (36) and we have 2 kids Sklya (4) and Ty (3) who are 19 months apart and our world. My son is a summer baby so here we go again, he he. My kids are such great kids and best buddies too! I got my Mirena out a few months ago (due to hormonal side effects) and we thought we were being careful but I must have ovulated really late and here we are! I am pretty sure I am due around August 16th but it could be later. I was just thinking my daughter will be starting Kindergarten around my due date and my son will be in Pre-K. I feel like I will be starting all over again, but I must admit I am really excited at the experience to have a new baby again I have never found out this early so I hope and pray that my little bean is ok. I see many familiar faces and I hope to get to know you ladies better! Congrats to all the BFPs and I hope to see more rolling in soon I forgot to add that we won't find out the gender. With already having a girl and boy I know I can wait it out and I am soo darn excited to find out at birth.

DH & I had been trying for baby #3 for about 4 months by the time I got my BFP - 1st test was with an OPK on Nov 21 (not the one pictured above, the 1st one was a bit lighter & I didn't get a picture of it). Symptoms at that point were sore boobs, and the absence of my usual pre-AF spotting. I also had some weird abdominal sensations ~ as if there was knot/tightening inside. Appointments 2/14/13 Well, I finally had my 1st OB appointment today! It was long awaited after having to reschedule it last week due to having influenza. On a side note, I can't believe how much influenza can wipe a person out! Or that & the combo of being pregnant. I have NO energy! And this cough is driving me crazy. I cough so hard I gag & have even thrown up a few times because of it So, my appointment: first thing, she listed for baby's heartbeat. It was pretty quiet at first, but then she found it again a bit stronger. Heartbeat was right around 166. Most of our conversation focused on the ongoing spotting that I've been having for the past six weeks. I still have an area on my cervix that she said is extra sensitive and that my cervix is a bit prolapsed so it is probably more prone to irritation than it normally would be. She said I need to work on my kegels The rest of our time was spent talking about preventing preterm labor again (DD was born early at 26 weeks). We will follow similar precautions this time as we did with DS. At 16 weeks, I'll start 17 HP injections (projesterone) to help prevent PTL and around 20 weeks we will do cervical lengths to monitor that to ensure that it's not shortening more than it should. I have a different job than I did with my last pregnancy, no lifting or anything like that, so I'm hopeful that I can do without bed rest this time!! So, now I have to decide when I tell DD (she's 6) about the pregnancy. I wanted to for sure wait until after today's appointment, but I might still wait a while. I'm not showing extremely yet - a coworker did say the other day that she could start to see a bump, but I don't think DD will notice for a while. She'll be excited, but I just think it's such a long time for them to have to wait until baby is born!
Belly at 13 weeks 6 days!
Around 20 weeks
23 weeks 1 day

Ok, I'm going to try to be good about updating my space!
Hi, I'm Ayelet, DH is Yoram, we've been married for 10.5 years! We met exactly a year after my grandfather passed away, and I truly believe that he had a hand in bringing us together. Until I met Yoram, I had dated some really scummy, messed up guys. Yoram is the man I've always dreamed I'd marry, but never thought I deserved! He is my best friend, a very involved and hands-on father, I don't want to make any of you jealous.. but he even does dishes and laundry! He treats me like a queen and I love him with all my heart and thank God for him every single day!
We have 4 beautiful children who you'll hear about in my posts. And after many years of dreaming and planning, at the very end of 2008, we moved from the comfort and familiarity of NY/NJ to Israel, the land of our heritage. 4 years later we still have our struggles - the hardest being the fact the my family is still in NY, but we know we made the best decision for our family.
I'm a doula, massage therapist and lately I've been studying herbal healing. I'll state here for the record my fundamental beliefs about birth:
I believe that essentially, women were created to grow and birth babies. Our bodies are ideally configured for the whole process. I believe that the ideal way to birth is allowing the process to flow in it's own way and time, and to support the mother in her needs. With that as a basis of my belief system, I can then educate women on all their options, and support women and couples within each one's unique situation. Which can mean anything from choosing a home birth, to an elective c/s. Whatever is right for each mother and her family. So I'm not an advocate of "natural birth" per se, I am an advocate of empowered and responsible birth.
Here's a pic of me and DH on our first vacation in 10 years, we went to a sweet little hotel at the Dead Sea:
This was in November - don't count... just... yeah...
BFP was Dec 16, I didn't take a pic this time, but I should have, b/c I keep wondering if it really happened, I had been suspecting for at least 2 weeks... by the time I POAS, the second line showed up literally before the entire window was even saturated!
Here's a link to the video from my last birth - it's a photo montage, and my friend did a gorgeous job! (IMHO!)
Tomorrow is my first appt, I have been feeling everything from fear that I'll find nothing, to fear that I'll find multiples! So I guess I'll feel better after tomorrow.
Looking forward to sharing this journey with you ladies!
Jan 3 - 1st appt:
there it is!! no use being in denial, might as well just enjoy the journey!!
u/s dates me at 8.5 weeks, doesn't really matter, baby will come when s/he's good and ready! the good news is there's just one! I can handle one!
10 wk belly pic!
